Sounds ok. I think the cup final should be earlier than march though, nearer Christmas than play offs.
Don't like the conference system, never have, never will.
If we get in the conti cup please can we sign a squad, no blaming injuries and fatigue next season please.

I'm really not happy that we might be in the Continental Cup next season, I partly blame that for the nightmare season we've had. Hopefully Belfast won't be invited into the other cup.
Like the one off Challenge Cup final, but surely it would have been much better to hold on a Saturday afternoon and earlier in the season.

Good to see a neutral venue for the challenge cup.

It's almost as if they're giving Sheffield the best chance possible next year. They get the CC final and the other 2 league contenders chucked into Europe (famous for not bringing good fortune).
Can we PLEASE just change the teams in the CC group? I know it's for financial costs but surely they can double the league and cup games up again?

Sorry but I still don't like the 2 group system for the Challenge Cup, it almost give the Giants a by every year to the final. Surely it would be better for Hull to stay in its respective conference and give them and the Scots a better chance of making the final?

Also, this shows the significance the league place on winning the challenge cup as opposed to the playoffs

The Giants Challenge Cup bye has and continues to be a joke, even more so when they get to the final playing less games than their opponents. Just how much assistance do they need to win it?

Cant say Im happy with Panthers being back in Europe next season, pre season fine but not during our domestic league. Disappointed with the fact that theyre still dragging the challenge cup out towards the end of the season, theres no reason why it cant be done and dusted before Christmas.

Surely it would be better for Hull to stay in its respective conference and give them and the Scots a better chance of making the final? The CC Groups have been kept to their pre-conference allocation in order to allow the Scottish teams to have an extra match with Belfast to make up the loss of playing the other arena teams due to the conference fixture format. It's not like you could swap the Giants every year with Sheffield or Nottingham, as that deprives those clubs of extra high attendance/sell-out matches.
I wouldn't say I "like" it either, but it's part of the check & balances to help teams get the most for their finances, and by extension better rosters out on the ice.

Seriously reconsidering renewing my Season ticket if Panthers do end up in Europe again.
I felt a little ripped off this season when the team said a year ago that they would sign a squad with extra bodies to copy with the demands of Europe. Instead they just made reaction signings as and when we were shortbenched. I can't say I've enjoyed watching our team play well under strength for the last few months with nothing to play for most nights.
If there is a chance this could be repeated next year I'd rather save my money.

fingers crossed that the Giants don't get into the CHL competition. Plus 1, I am so hoping this is the case. The irony is that most supporters I speak to are not interested in the Continental Cup, all are far more focused on the league. Lets hope Belfast don't get the wild card and we can have a season without that awful competition.

Think getting a wild card will be a long shot:
40 clubs from the first-tier leagues of at least six different European countries will participate in the inaugural 2014–15 season.[1] 26 "founding clubs", mainly from the European Trophy, are planned to participate. Djurgårdens IF, however, must promote to the Swedish first-tier league SHL prior to the 2014–15 season, for participation in this CHL season.[3] Two teams – the regular-season winner and the playoff champion in the 2013–14 season – in each of the first-tier leagues of the six "founding" countries (Austria, Czech Republic, Finland, Germany, Sweden, and Switzerland) will also be guaranteed participation. Two "wild card" teams, from other European first-tier leagues than the founding ones, will also participate. If this does not bring up the total number of participating teams to 40 (i.e. a regular-season winner also won the playoffs, or Djurgården failed to promote), other top teams from the founding leagues will be invited to give exactly 40 teams. It has been confirmed that no KHL teams will participate in this season.[2]

It's obvious that Belfast think its ok to loose high attendance though...,not a bad swap for a direct route to a major trophy.

I'm all for it personally, but the Panthers HAVE to go into it next season (assuming Giants are accepted into the Champions League) with a SQUAD. Sign extra import forwards/defencemen (all of which can play in the CC) and rotate depending on fatigue/injuries/form/opposition.
If we don't, we'll end up like this season again.

That will be the next Elite rule change to see fairer play and even up things. Limited player signings.

The other option then would be to put all the teams in a bag and draw them out against one another. Have a good match up like in football, that would still give the 'smaller' (no disrespect) a better chance of progressing which would be fab.
