Belfast Fife (imagine the fairlytale ending if they actually won it!) Us (by the skin of our teeth) Sheffield.
If fife do beat Dundee, does that mean they play Belfast in the Semi or do they take Dundee's seeding and therefore play Sheffield?

Wasn't there a big uproar when We played Hull in the semi final as Belfast thought they should after winning the league and being the number one seed so should have played Hull being the lowest seed.

Yes that's true, we had a fixed playoff bracket that year. I don't know if they changed it subsequently to be more NHLish though. Guess we'll find out.

Belfast Panthers Fife Sheffield
Can't predict semi finals because we don't know what is happening with the seedings.

Belfast Panthers Fife Sheffield Can't predict semi finals because we don't know what is happening with the seedings. I believe highest seed plays lowest seed so based on your predictions it would be:- Belfast (1) v Fife (8) Panthers (4) v Sheffield (3)

In my honest opinion out of the games on offer I would take Belfast since they have been a real solid team all season. Although Hull could be the dark horse, Bowns could be the difference but Belfast win over the two legs
Panthers to win over the two legs but will depend on who plays, Hopefully, Franny and Benni will be back and be ready for the play-offs at "FULL-Strength" .
Now Dundee V Fife - A proper Scottish derby and bragging rights - Hard to call this one. I'll back Dundee on this one. They've been really good all season won the gardener conference in the last couple of weeks so Dundee
Sheffield V coventry - Another tough call, This could be either a slobber-knocker or a snore fest. Sheffield haven't been too bad since Adams took charge (That I predicted by the way) but Coventry with Kelsey Wilson, could be a difference with his links with Panthers V sheffield. so out of the teams I'll probably go Coventry.
But I could be wrong entirely as the Play-offs can be a funny time and ANYTHING could happen. I'm really surprised that Cardiff didn't make the play-offs this season as they have been in every play-offs since the Elite League Era began.
We still have a matter of the CC final second leg on tuesday (On the internet) to deal with first.
LET'S GO PANTHERS!"

Pretty sure Ted's correct, think it changed last year (11/12 was the Panthers v Hull one - link - but appears to not be using the bracket style in 12/13 - link - by the old method we would've played Coventry in the semi).

For me I think it will play out as follows
Belfast v Hull - It will be a tight game in Hull but Belfast will prevail over two legs. Dundee v Fife - Fife will edge this, they have the second best momentum behind Belfast at the moment, so it's Fife all the way for me.
The other two ties are harder
Sheffield v Coventry - this could go either way, so I am 50/50 but probably slightly edging Sheffield. Braehead v Nottingham - again this could go either way - will depend if we are at full strength or not - if not then I am tipping Braehead for this one.
My gut feeling is
Belfast v Fife - Afternoon semi - Shock win for Fife Braehead v Sheffield - Braehead scrap through
Final
Fife v Braehead - Fife celebrate their 75th Season with their first Play off win at this level since 1985.

Nottingham end their run of PlayOff wins by not making the weekend, beating Braehead 4-3 in the first ceg but losing the return leg 5-1.
Sheffield are back at the finals weekend after missing the last 2 following comfortable 4-1 and 5-2 victories over Coventry.
Hull take a 1st leg lead to Belfast (3-2) but are then trounced 6-1 in the 2nd leg.
Fife nick the opener against Dundee 3-1, but the same scoreline in the return leg sees the game go to penalties, where Dundee take it.
---
A lot of "Nottingham section" POFW tickets appear on ebay and the arena is no more than 3/4 full for the weekend.
---
Braehead do the unthinkable and defeat a poor Belfast side, 4-2, including an empty netter.
Dan Bakala stands on his head, again, and Dundee gain revenge from last season's post-match brawl by KOing Sheffield 2-0.
---
Neil Black keeps his hands on the PlayOff trophy, to the delight of the conspiracy theorists, after Breahead come from 2-0 and 3-1 down to beat Dundee 5-3. Bakala is stretchered off at 2-0 following a collission with Chris Frank, who is jumped from behind by Jeff Hutchins. Hutchins is ejected.

From the EIHL Website:-
"Seedings for the semi-final and final will be determined by the original quarter-final ranking, so the highest-placed team left in the competition will be ranked as the highest seed. The highest seed will play the lowest seed in the first semi-final, with the remaining seeds playing in the second semi-final"
Giants(1) v Rays(8) / Stars(2) v Flyers(7) / Steelers(3) v Blaze(6) / Panthers(4) v Clan(5)

All I can say is that I would be very intrigued to see what would get said should the Playoff weekend consist of Hull, Braehead, Dundee/Fife and Coventry.

Belfast and Sheffield are certs. The other two 50/50. Pity Coventry managed sixth place, I think they are the weakest of the quarter finalists (particularly if Ginand is sidelined as a result of theconcussion he suffered at the end of last nights game), would love to have seen Fife v Dundee at the finals weekend. At least it will be good to see a Scottish team there (hopefully not two of them though)
