We all know this season hasn't been the best, but there's a trophy at stake tonight. I think sometimes we underestimate how much of an infuence we as a crowd can be. If we get behind them from the off then you never know, I'm going to do my bit, let's see who else does. A noisy crowd really does give players a lift and energise them, the thankyous and other comments we had from the players about the barmy army chant in Asiago proves it, we are not the best team this year but we are consistently the best fans. Time to prove it We did get behind them I did my my bit You did your bit We did prove it, again Epic

Thank You for your kind words soon after a defeat....but Conference win is near always going to the league winners and just a 'stat' regards some games, so can't agree re it being a 'title'......even if Panthers win that. I'm just so glad we made this on ours. PO loss is more acceptable should we fall short. well done lads. not always league winners win the conference, Giants won it last year to disprove that theory. If there is a trophy ITS A TITLE the problem is, is that all of you believe everything you GM says with regard to the conference title. (maybe he belittled it because people said last year wasn't a grand slam because Panthers didn't win them all) im pretty sure that if you had won them all last season he would have recognised it as a TITLE just as all the fans would. outstanding display last night, congratulations once more (I would have added enjoy, but you all ready are ha ha ha Well according to Darryl Lloyd in a post-match interview with AVFTB last night, you;d already won one title and were hoping to add the remaining two. As soon as the EIHL said "Grand Slam" last season it made the conference title irrelevant other than being for PlayOff seedings.

Congrats Nottingham. Outworked, outfought and outplayed the Giants, who I personally thought were poor.
One netminder was excellent, one was not, so when it went to a shootout there was only going to be one winner.
Really physical first period from the Panthers set the tone.
Must have been an incredible game for a neutral. If there were any in the building.

Thanks to the"K Club" - 3 great saves and a great classy penalty. Lots of players proved what they are capable of doing and well done Ryan, who lots would have gassed ages ago. I thought it was an absolute cracker of a match and Belfast palyed their part.

As stated it's I, me, not GM. Plus a bet that 'most' (as I said, 'near always') of these 'titles' to conference champs will be a double up with the league winners. I am a stats man and traditionalist. Written these formats as part of history in my books and have realised over the years that the governing bodies throughout dream up some kind of 'title' to which teams end up having to buy their own trophies which then makes it a real domestic competition? Or even supply them to Knock Out Cups. I'm sure Belfast will be back...I have slipped you into the weekend finals and NOT us would you believe in the Cage Forum thread on peoples thoughts to who might win over in the PO quarters. So I'm really making my own judgement there. Next year the Panthers are buying another trophy...no not the new PO one should we win it (I don't think any trophy should be replaced - so a definite disagreement with GM/NB there) .....it's a self bought one to honour 10 domestic titles in 15 (not counted that figure correct for sure, just being the selfish fan people always think we are.. ) LOL NO, just joking of course BUT I can also tell you that I do discount the Charity Shield too which we did win legit because that too is a short lived added competition that we did win.Yet other teams fans will obviously disagree with this yet uphold the Conference idea still.

Having read throught this entire thread, there's not much to say that hasn't already been sad but i'll have a go. I felt beforehand that we would win the game but lose the tie. Logan Jnr was full of confidence and said we'd win it 4-1 then win on penalties! If only she was old enough to bet! Can't really single anybody out for special praise, it was just an amazing performance - individually and collectively. An amazing night and there have been plenty of them recently but that was arguably the best of the lot. The difference between the 2 NM's was massive last night. K-wall was immense whereas Murphy was woeful. Our PP was very impressive too. Oh; that hit by Salters on Elfring behind the Belfast net in the 1st period - BOOOMMMM!!!! Thank you Panthers - that was amazing, epic, awesome and unforgettable.

I've had the privilege of attending some of the great nights in our history over the years: 1998 vs the Storm, Kimmy's OT winner, Lacho's OT winner, winning the league in Belfast and Jordan Fox's Treble winner. Tonight was the best game I have ever seen. Well kim, I missed last night so perhaps a little bitter haha but tbh I think the greatest night will be Kimmys OT winner purely cause it had been a long time since we d won a trophy, and to win it in dramatic fashion in sheffields barn as they were the leagues best that year and of cause Blaiser being coach too. But yeah with the season weve had last night is surely right up there with the best .

THIS BETTER HAPPEN, with the 1st leg also included to show the extreme and conclusive action which is the 2 game CUP that it is. This DVD and the Trading cards and the ' Five in Five T-Shirts' by Thursday please.....not much to ask for?

Congrats, your team played a blinder. Any team that claws back a 3 goal deficite deserves to lift a trophy. Panthers fully deserved this one. Well done..

Congratulations. Sounded like your team gave a monumental effort to claw the game back. Must have been a great feeling when that penalty shot went in. Enjoy people, after a season like this, you deserve it.

Whether you are a Panthers fan, a Giants fan or indeed a Steelers fan that witnessed last nights game you would have to admit it was a special match. The Giants actually played well and looked as dangerous as the Panthers. Goaltending was a big factor. Kwall was immense whereas Murphy was dodgy. He is good in a long league season with solid D in front of him but in one off cup games Im not sure he's got the balls for it. He dropped a clanger in the first leg and on more than one occasion he made a mess of us dumping the puck in on net last night.
Great win and huge respect to players coming back from injury and illness.
Also can we have that atmosphere everyweek please?

Giants fans should be very annoyed with their captain in my opinion. He is there to set the tone and after the panthers 2nd goal didnt do a thing I expected him to come out and challenge one of the guys to try and spark the giants poor effort from Mr Keefe last night.

He did chirp the ref a lot though. To be honest I wonder if he was under instruction not to as it was a close game, Salters set the tone with his monster hits, it doesnt always need to be done with a fight.

Well this Steelers fan attended and really enjoyed the game. An incredible spirited performance from Nottingham. I actually almost gave it a miss because I expected Giants to kill the game off early.. Which is probably why the other Steelers fans DID go ;-) But for me, drama like that makes me forget about rivalries.. It's games like that which will help our league flourish. What a damn shame it wasn't on TV eh? Oh just to add.. I was doing Audio for @ukhl last night and captured the Penalties as they happened - t.co/L1PcUwNFNp

He is there to set the tone and after the panthers 2nd goal didnt do a thing I expected him to come out and challenge one of the guys to try and spark the giants poor effort from Mr Keefe last night. He was too busy mouthing at the ref and slamming bench doors. Gotta say I think Lynn Loyns played probably one of the best games ive seen from a Panther for a number of years. He was every where battling in the corners scoring goals double shifting on defence just an awesome performance from him and the rest of the team. Coreys game plan to slow the game down, don't panic and keep the puck completely screwed Adey over. They were ready for us to be throwing pucks into the zone and waiting to catch us on the break as we got desperate but we didn't and they didn't know how to answer it we plaid it so perfectly that not one of the giants stood out in a good way. The panthers certainly made me eat my words as I said to my old man before the puck dropped that we would probably be on our way home after the second period but I am so happy to have been proved wrong. Now dare I say make mine a double
