P.S. think Darnell and the Lino's need to swot up on there icing calls, and their blue line calls. Yes very bad night for offside in particular. Could have done with the Henley white stick for one in particular.

Just a quick thanks for the kind comments from other teams supporters. Panthers played an excellent game and so did the Giants to be fair but we just wanted it more on the night, what a turn around and I am so pleased for the guys, especially those playing injured or ill. That cup is testament to you all. I just hope we haven't burnt ourselves out for Thurs against the Clan now. So proud of you all Well Done.

If we'd have lost that on penalties, it would have been a travesty. But wow. Cage forum gold here we come!

I have to confess... I didn't believe. I went into that game expecting a narrow win on the night at best, more likely a narrow loss... and was afraid of a heavy loss. Sometimes it's nice to be wrong... A magnificent performance by a badly banged-up team against a damned good Belfast team (who weren't exactly shabby tonight, let's be honest!) - they had more players, more shots and more possession... the Panthers wanted it more. What else is there to say? After this car-crash of a season, getting even one trophy is a real victory. Braehead are going to be no pushovers on Thursday & Saturday, let's make no mistake about that... but if we can get past them...? Again, I don't believe that we'll retain our PO trophy... but I've been wrong before!

I've had the privilege of attending some of the great nights in our history over the years: 1998 vs the Storm, Kimmy's OT winner, Lacho's OT winner, winning the league in Belfast and Jordan Fox's Treble winner. Tonight was the best game I have ever seen.

Fantastic win. A shame that saari wasn't able to dress tonight.

Fantastic win. A shame that saari wasn't able to dress tonight. Sent from my Nexus 7 using proboards I wonder why? He was excellent at the weekend. I wonder if Corey felt we relied on him too much and dropping him was a way of making the rest step up to the plate?

No spot for him with Benny and Francis in and Henley's place suspended.

I have to say, I thought our trophy streak bubble had burst. it will happen one day and there will be a season where we end up tropheyless. i had resigned myself to it being this year. But my god, we earnt that. After leaving the Odessy on friday, after i avoided all the moronic belfast fans, I got talking to one lovely Belfast fan who said "You'll win that trophy, we've took our foot off the gas in the third" I laughed it off and said "it'd have to get last years teamm back to overcome this" but this years team did the unexpected. It won with its back against the wall with 99% pf is writing them off.

110% effort and play from all involved. Francis and Benedict are such key players. Can't say enough about tonight. The PO QF against Braehead 2 years ago requiring the 3 goal comeback was special, but tonight was exquisite. To go through the season we've had, and to top off the cup like this is remarkable.
Brilliant.

Nice to see Norton get a mention at the balcony from Corey, shows you a lot about how professional he is both on the ice and behind the scenes

I think that's why this feels soo special tonight, we have a banged up team, had some horrendous injuries (as have other teams) but they have come through this together and all deserved something out of this season. Many congratulations to Corey & Rick aswell, a formidable double act who I hope are around for a long time yet.

I've had the privilege of attending some of the great nights in our history over the years: 1998 vs the Storm, Kimmy's OT winner, Lacho's OT winner, winning the league in Belfast and Jordan Fox's Treble winner. Tonight was the best game I have ever seen. Similar to my own sentiments Kim. Wouldn't say it was the best ever game, but tonight is definitely up there with the most hard-fought and satisfying of all our trophy wins in the modern era. After all those years of the odd cup and lots of heroic (and not so heroic) failures, it is fantastic to be enjoying the most successful period in our history right now. On my calculations (so I stand to be corrected): This is David Clarke's 11th trophy as a Panther, a clear lead as our most decorated player ever. It is also Corey Neilson's 11th trophy, 9 as coach (5 of them as player/coach) with 2 others just as a player. The 9 trophies as coach equal the number achieved by all other coaches in the modern era put together (Dampier 3, Blaisdell 3, Adey 1, Ellis 2)! The trophy is Craig Kowalski's 8th as a Panther in just 4 seasons with the club. Long may this success last!

Remember in Rocky 2 when mickey trained him to switch hands to beat Apollo by confusing him?
Well Corey was our Mickey tonight, Panthers came out with a totally different game plan to what Belfast expected.
Straight on the attack, challenging the puck, winning faceoffs, attacking hard, many mid ice shots at Murphy to put him under pressure, skating into the offensive zone rather than dump and run like previous matches, totally took them unaware.
Best game I've seen in my short panthers fan career.

Congrats Chaps and Chapesses.
I got some strange sort of masochistic pleasure out of your come from behind victory last night.
I did think people were writing you off a bit too quickly, even missing an import or two you still have some serious quality in your squad.

Awesome night, absolutely awesome. Went for them from the off and they seriously choked, especially Murphy. Why Belfast sat back I don't know. Everyone knows we can't defend for toffee. Some observations. 1. Kalus was brilliant, loved his celebrations. So did his Mrs/mistress sat five rows in front of our group. Mad body on her lads. 2. You wouldn't want Murphy carrying his baby on the ice like Kwall did. Bound to drop it. #rebound 3. Giants are still cry babies chasing the ref and lino's every min. Drives me crackers. 4. Is there anything sadder than sitting in the Giants section with your Steelers shirts on hoping to see the Panthers lose..... Even cheering for the Giants!! That must have been a fun drive back to the sticks. We'll take your money though thanks. Hope you had a fun Evening. Epic, just epic. ha ha ha ha ....... this really made me smile, I suggest you read almost all the reports by your own supporters after almost every game Panthers play win or lose they blame the ref's and lino's. that being said, fantastic victory for the Panthers last night, fully deserved CONGRATULATIONS

Well, that has to be one of the Marquee performances I have witnessed in over 30 years of watching the Panthers!
To all intent and purpose, we were dead and buried coming into the game - a 3 goal deficit against the League's stand-out Club; players playing injured, and a D-man short through suspension. All it would have taken was Belfast to score the first goal and it was all over.
The spirit, tenacity and sheer determination showed by every player on that team last night was just phenomenal, and when we started getting through to Murphy, he looked decidedly shaky, which has to be worrying for the Giants going into the Play-Offs.
K-Wall was back to his brilliant best, and Matt Ryan thoroughly deserved his MOM for his unstinting work rate. The depleted defence deserves a lot of credit, with each and every one giving their all.
It also looked like Kalus was pretty happy to have won the trophy, and his coolness under pressure in the penalty shoot-out was just awesome!
I left the NIC almost in a state of shock last night, but now I'm hoping that we can string together 2 similarly inspiring performances against Breahead and reach the Play Off Finals weekend. If we can, then as we saw last night, anything is possible!!
Bring it on!!!!

well I was not expecting that to happen last night, where has this Nottingham panthers side come from? its just a lil annoying they have not been able to play like that all season long, but hopefully we can now push on for the playoffs, be very interested to see how the giants response to this, they have had it easy all season and not much really pressure on them like they did last night could be an interesting match up in the play offs

congratulations Panthers, listening to the radio commentary fully deserved victory Thank You for your kind words soon after a defeat....but Conference win is near always going to the league winners and just a 'stat' regards some games, so can't agree re it being a 'title'......even if Panthers win that. I'm just so glad we made this on ours. PO loss is more acceptable should we fall short. well done lads. not always league winners win the conference, Giants won it last year to disprove that theory. If there is a trophy ITS A TITLE the problem is, is that all of you believe everything you GM says with regard to the conference title. (maybe he belittled it because people said last year wasn't a grand slam because Panthers didn't win them all) im pretty sure that if you had won them all last season he would have recognised it as a TITLE just as all the fans would. outstanding display last night, congratulations once more (I would have added enjoy, but you all ready are ha ha ha
