Anyone would think they were a bitter bunch....... They are a bitter bunch. Have a gander over at KOTG, someone has started a thread claiming that Salters shirt from the fight last saturday was almost 'on purposely set up to rip that easily' A very bitter bunch indeed. Obviously that's the only way anybody could beat Keefe - by cheating You just couldn't make this crap up. So, you win a double header away at the reigning champions. In the process, you win the league. Still got to have a whinge/ridiculous dig in the direction of Nottingham:- www.kingdomofthegiants.com/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=25075Those pesky Panthers eh - always finding ways of bending and breaking the rules

The latest batch of whine coming from over the Irish Sea www.kingdomofthegiants.com/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=25081Imagine having the best qualifying record (from a much tougher group as usual ) which entitles us to have the 2nd leg at home then actually expecting the 2nd leg to be at home. How dare we?

I genuinely love Giants fans.
As to the finals date, that makes perfect sense. I wasn't planning on going to the double header this year, but now there is something riding on the Friday game I'll at least look into it.

Now normally im not a fan of doubling up league and cup games but, putting in an extra pointless league game on the 12th makes no sense whatsoever. This is one situation where the doubling up of things would make sense.Do we really need another pointless match at the back end of a really tiring season?

Doubling up the cup final though Caesar? Wouldn't we be getting to the stage of why are we bothering at all?

When it comes to the way the cup is organized and handled I think most people think like that anyway. I just think doubling up that particular Friday night wouldn't do any harm at all. League wise there is nothing to be gained by either us or Belfast, they've won it and we are just jockeying for position. All that putting in an extra league fixture does is create the ability for more tiredness and injures to occur

if Belfast had doubled up the CC Final with one of the doubleheader then they would have lost one home game revenue. They get their revenue, and those fans travelling from Nottingham for the double header get one meaningful game out of the two. Not a bad result really, the only downside is that we play the 2nd leg on Tuesday and our home QF on Thursday.

Well, I suppose that the KOTG crew have got to find something else to have a go at us for... after all, they must be rather bitter about us taking their favorite taunt away from them - that we'd never won the league.

Big test for Corey this. I still have major doubts about his tactics in the league, but he always pulls if off in the cups. If we come and win this after being dominated to a whimper last weekend it will be amazing. In Corey we trust.

I'm seeing, what, 4 or maybe 5 posters, in a two page thread having a pop at a rival team and suddenly all Giants fans are 'bitter' and 'mardy'! Just ignore all the reasonable posts in there why don't you. I suppose the Panthers don't have any numpties or wind-up merchants in their fan base! I don't care what order the games are played in, and neither I suspect do the players. All I hope for is to watch the Giants win both games ( hopefully entertaining ones) and lift the Challenge Cup afterwards. You, obviously, will hope differently

This is why I will never congratulate the Giants on winning anything, the vitriol aimed at the Panthers from a big portion of there fan base and their official podcast team A view from the bridge is pathetic. They seem to have taken more joy in the Panthers not wining the league than they have that there team has won it.

Does the Giants live game coverage work on Ipads? We cannot go to the away leg, but hoping to be able to catch it streamed.

'This is why I will never congratulate the Giants on winning anything, the vitriol aimed at the Panthers from a big portion of there fan base and their official podcast team A view from the bridge is pathetic'. When they (all but) won the league at Nott'm t'other week I applauded the GIANTS off the ice, my congratulations being aimed at the team and coach, not at any-one sat in blocks 2/3.

What are the numbers for this "big portion of there(their) fan base".Giants average 4000+ per game to date. Big portion implies a large number, so what is this number and from where did you obtain your figures. ?

Maybe, reference is from the percentage quotes in forum/news item comments more likely.

Why tarnish the majority because of the minority. Some of our lot are just as bad.

A quick look back to last season and when we won the title. Here is the gracious thread (even if it was through gritted Yarkshire teeth) from Steeltalk:- www.steeltalk.hockeytweets.co.uk/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=3281Here is the 'Classless Chumps' thread form KOTG:- www.kingdomofthegiants.com/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=24524&start=40And the game thread from the league title clinching game:- www.kingdomofthegiants.com/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=24524&start=40'If we're lucky Corey will do a Jock Stein' 'Hope they choke on their Champagne' 'Cheap Shots' 'Dirty Panthers' 'Scum' 'Wouldn't take Ling on our team if he was free' This plus the crap from more recent times (Salters shirt; 2nd leg nonsense etc) and it's difficult to say any other than they are a very bitter bunch when it comes to Panthers. Not all of them but if this is the majority view form their 'forum fans' it's no wonder 5+G has taken his viewpoint. I hear more songs/chants from them at games and especially POFW aimed at Panthers than I do at actually geting behind their own team. Quite sad really.
