Just looking at the league table, they only need 9 points to secure the title.
There is a very good chance that they could win the league on our ice in our double header weekend.
Will this be the biggest winning margin of any league winner, pre or post Elite league era?

One or two Panthers fans on Twitter indicating they'd like Adey to win it in the NIC.

I'm struggling to recall a team running away with it like this.
Out of interest, does anyone know how the league table looked at this time last season? There were probably still 3 teams in with a shout at a guess?

How can someone want another team to win the league in there arena ? We are defending champions so if the time comes that Belfast can win it here. We make sure they don't. Regardless of who they are or who their coach is.

I wonder if we'll give Todd/Paul use of the microphone if they won at our place...

not bothered either way. they've deserved it. would be nice to see adey get some recognition from us. i'd rather them do it on the 2nd night though, keep them interested.
after saturdays performance, anything is better, even if its us losing the title in our own arena.

Bring up a few Brits who do MMA as well as ice hockey from the various rec teams and make a forth line. Let them go nuts earning a 'Drop Your Gloves' profile.
If Belfast are going to lift the league trophy at the NIC I want it to pinch a bit. Yes they deserve it but so what?

They need eleven points not nine.
For them to win it in our barn Steelers need to lose a couple quick and the Giants keep winning and then take four points from our double header.
It's going to be Coventry watching them pick up the trophy at the Odyssey.

A goon line would be nice least it would be more entertaining, offer kelsey wilson all of the money sign penner and colt king, send mcmorrow a cake with a file in it and a plane ticket

After all, banned imports hit the team harder. There are a few 'punchy' rec players around who I'm sure would lap up the chance to be let loose in an EIHL game.

I seem to remember a Chris Syzsky goal in your place many years ago in the dying few minutes that won us the league that night. Was a fantastic night from a Steelers perspective but I can't imagine what it must have felt like in the home end. So, based on that, I would have thought stopping the Giants winning it on your ice would have been a real driver.

Will this be the biggest winning margin of any league winner, pre or post Elite league era? Steelers won it by 16 points in 2003/2004. Then again by 11 points in 2008/2009, Belfast by 11 points in 2011/2012. So 16 points is the margin to beat. I would say they are on course.

I realise Shorty did say before the Elite League as well but not sure you can compare winning margins across different leagues. Too many different variables for me.

I just dont think players in this country are trained for that particular role at grass roots level. I expect players who are used as tough guys are used that way because their hockey ability is very limited. If Brit players dont make the grade they will just give up and do something else

I understand your point (reason why I said 'whole' story when adding the leagues history) but the variables I think are also opponents of the same degree of strength for any time? I mean the ones you missed or any of them for that matter are possibly 'easy' or 'hard' seasons dependant on that seasons 'events' shall we say, what ever that be, financial or such. Belfast 2002 the best recent marker if you avoid the 1990's.
