Can we borrow your loser cruiser, it's require for 15 players and a coach to take them to the airport. When we play you next week I'll be wearing the Steelers replica kit.....big curled up shoes with bells on the end and a big red nose. We won't be skating out to Sandstorm, we'll be skating out to the circus theme . For sale, one season ticket....all offers will be considered If you can't laugh.... Regards Doom

You'll have a job.... how many hockey players can you fit inside a Fiesta, anyway? ;D Ah, well.... I suppose you could get Tessier to spring for the taxi fare! Hope you get something to cheer you up a bit soon, although I can't bring myself to wish for the Steelers' fortunes to change for the better <shrugs> .... well, apart from when they play Belfast and Coventry, anyway!

Well I for one am looking forward to tonight. It'll be tough, fast(ish), passionate and a rip snorter of a game. We will fight until we are sick and skate until we can't stand for the pride of our shirts. We may go down, we may win, but whatever the outcome we will have given absolutely everything to the cause. There will be blood, tears and sweat; Hits, goals and incident, but nobody will leave the building questioning the commitment, and if we can't/don't win the war as a whole we will win the battles! That's right folks with a face off at 16.15 tonight the Blazers take on Newcastle, as for Steelers for the first time ever I am not going to bother, they can't so why should I? I will go play for my team instead, at least I am guaranteed a display and some passion!

Loosing is not what i do best but when they loose and don't put in ANY effort at all it really winds me up!!

Didnt Steelers season start to go down hill when someone posted the "Panthers Chasing" thread on Steel Talk. Very similar to our own "Who can stop the Panthers" thread.

Well I thought I might take my kit along with me tonight, then if they need some passion putting into the game I'll be ready to suit up. Although it will take me more than the 15 minute breaks to get suited up.

You can still bet your lot will give us a run for our money next week Doom, no matter how good or bad both teams are playing they always step up to the mark against each other, and I'm not looking forward to it.

Doom
What a difference a few weeks make.
Two weeks ago, we were ripping EVERY player in our team to shreads. Our attendences were dropping off, and only the hardcore fan could say "We've been here before and we'll come good".
We struggled. I used to hate your lot coming to our building doing your silly little dance when you scored. You were loud and proud, you were Andy Carsons best friends and boy did we loathe getting smashed year after year.
This year we reached an all time low. We went 3-0 down to Hull at home. The travelling support started chanting "Easy, Easy, Easy" and it make you sick. It makes you so sick you're angry, hurt, disappointed and more.
For all his critics, Evan Lindsay wasn't so bad. In those games he was no worse than the defence in front of him. The crowd got on him and he was one of a number that could have been cut. But cut him they did and we brought in 'Rusty'. The last time I saw such an impact was when your lot brought in Christian Bronsard. he was awesome, out of this world to be fair and boy did he give us the blues.
We didn't give up though. Some left, we got some new fans as we do every year.
It's a black period for you Doom.
For us we are the nearly men. Every year we have virtually the best team on paper, although hockey isn't played on paper. We have a good run, sit on top, balls it up mid season, have a run yet we're never quite there. This season we had a bad Cup run, partially due to its silly new format. No doubt we'll make the playoffs. We should make the final. Should, Could, Would, If, But are big words in Nottingham.
I should know, I am a Panther, and I love being a Panther.
To be a Steeler must be like being Liverpool FC. You were good, the best, outstanding, unbeatable, and now you have memories. You play a decent game, have a little revival, but whatever you do, however you and whatever you win, it just not like it used to be. Clutching at straws, aquiring 'cast-offs' from up the road, it's just not you.
Fair play for landing Tessier. When he left us, he was probably the best player in the European minor leagues (as in not CZE, SVK, SWE, FIN, GER, AUT). But one man doesn't make a team. Tessier was on a line that understood him and were equally good, creative, goalscoring wingers in their own right. DT got the credit as he kept banging the puck in, but we were playing well week in week out and to be honest, and not to do Dan, you can put an average Center on a line with 2 awesome, in form wingers and win the league. BUT (a Nottingham word), you can't put an exceptional Center on a line with two average wingers and expect results.
Mate... I hope you regain your faith. I hope your mood improves. I don't hope Steelers start winning trophies again just yet, We're way ahead of you in that queue.
What goes around comes around and I know that beautiful days will one day come back to Nottingham.
Whether that day comes next week, or in 10 years time, I love hockey... and I'll be around to see that.
Martin

I expected it to be a tough season for the Steelers with Dave Whistle's antics in the off-season. You have a rookie coach who was expected to put together a team at short notice, it isn't usually a recipe for success. Look on the bright side though, Matsos is gaining valuable experience and will learn from this and you haven't lost over 10 games in a row (yet). I do believe your still a dangerous side, will finish mid-table and make the play-offs. Although I must admit that I hope the form dip continues till December 24th, just so that you don't score in the final minute to ruin the night as usual this season! ;

Hang in there lad, things can only get better (but I hope not for a while ) HL

Hey folks, I'm not that down....The Blades won yesterday...It's not all bad news. I think we will get out of our slump just like you did, but as I've posted on Steeltalk, I lost faith in our coach a few weeks ago. I guess we all think we know best, but some of his decisions and comments recently have left me a little bewildered. Despite our slump I'm still really looking forward to next weeks game against you lot, hopefully we can win it, but if we don't, I'll still go to the pub, have a few beers and look forward to Christmas. Regards Doom
