The 10% fee is a way of the NIC making more money from ice hockey. No, the 10% fee is just another one of the rip-off 'fees' that all arenas have brought in on all sales - not just ice hockey tickers - as a way of raising overall ticket prices without actually raising the 'headline' ticket price. It's a rip-off... a cynical and deceitful rip-off. Don't they have the balls to just raise ticket prices? - and if not, why not?

The Panthers don't do league titles. Not even Carlsberg can manage that!

But it will still mean they are making more money from an ice hockey event. More money from Panthers fans. And it will still mean they are making more money per se. So theoretically they have less need to move a Panthers match. And yes they are rip off charges and should be incl in the asking price. I expect the OFT to ban them.

Can't see the OFT banning them, but maybe having a maximum charge whether that be a percentage or a total cost.
Don't see what impact buying one at a time has except for annoying both the cashier and everyone stood behind you. Cashiers/box office assistants etc have a tough enough job having to put up with people like us getting paid peanuts to receive the slack which stood be directed at the management.
Fact is it won't influence the decision makers, because this is hardly a 'decision', just a case of a venue following the market. Until the market changes, most likely by OFT regulation, then the individual arenas won't. All your doing is making a tough job (keeping customers who kick, scream, winge etc happy) even tougher.

Get ripped off if you want, I don't care. If I am buying and they want to charge per ticket, they will pay per ticket, end of. It still takes less time than someone paying by cheque, so are you saying that cheques are not allowed? cos it keep you waiting? get real. I will conduct my business how I see fit. You lot are exactly the kind of punter these people rely on to perpetuate this rip off culture. Accept a £2 wrapping charge on your fish and chips would you? No thought not, so why stand idle and allow yourselves to be ripped off, and the old 'you will never change anything' cuts no ice I'm afraid, are we still paying the original poll tax? Look on any public action forum, were the public discuss these and other issues and organise action, and this is in the top ten of actions they recommend people take; it's not just me, there are thousands of us making similar protests, why do you think the OFT started looking in to it? I question every addition to any transaction I make, if you don't, and allow them to get away with it believe me it will spread and get worse as long as they think they can add something and you will do nothing. When the energy sector was de-regulated and people started leaving British Gas, they made up, and started adding a £5 transference fee. This was a simple rip off, they counted on people not being bothered to chase back just £5 even though the charge had been deemed 'immoral' and unnecessary' by the watchdog. Because of people like yourselves not being bothered British Gas made £3.5 million profit from people leaving!! Look, if you don't agree fine, if you end up behind me, sorry, but I would bet you wouldn't even notice. And when these charges are regulated and we are all paying less, you can thank me with a pint

If you aren't happy with Booking Fees then go direct to the owners....your local councilors! I believe the NIC is still owned by the council isn't it? So make it an issue with them.
I just always pay with cash or multiple cheques, so I don't have to pay the fees. However, I could live with a booking fee of 2.5%, as this is what the card companies will charge them to guarantee they'll get paid!

I can accept that as a charge for using a credit card as the NIC are not making anything from it. I cannot however accept a 'booking fee' on top of the ticket price. Whilst I agree with you in principle Nem, I really don't see anything being done about this by the OFT.

Just one comment to make, to pick up what Carrolle said NEVER rely on the ATMs at the arena, they are literally out of order more than they are IN! The problem is the walk on a game night into town just to get to my money in the rain (thinking of a couple of weeks ago for example) isnt appealing and when your as bad at planning things as me that means borrowing from friends!

I always find the good old fashioned cheque book to be the best way & it don't cost a penny extra. Have to agree. The first time I went to buy a ticket this season I offered to pay by switch and they told me there was a surcharge. "For switch?", I asked somewhat surprised. "Yes" apparently so I paid by cheque, which they took about a fortnight to cash.
