Have these players gone soft? Simon Hunt scored 6 goals against Edinburgh with a cast on his thumb and his glove taped on so it wouldnt fall off whilst he was playing. Old school hockey. Too right. If Stuart Pearce had broken his leg like Werner he'd have got up and run it off. Wimps, these hockey players. (This is a tongue in cheek comment, in case you're reading it Leigh, and in case you haven't gone home yet Barry)

Nice one. Was that the game we beat Murrayfield 19-2? The legend (so good he's on the T-shirt twice) scored 6+1 IIRC after Mike Ware got thrown out for beating the snot out of Ross Lambert against the nets. Yep, the nets. No plexi in those days. Jeez, we were lucky to have ice etc. All these close games these days, waste of money...

Are you sure it was the same game that Mike Ware gave Ross a beating Bob? I seem to remember that Ware was on the ice for almost all of the 19-2 game and was dead on his feet at the end.
Whichever game it was he gave Ross a real beating. Jumped him from behind a rained punches on Ross. I remember talking to Ross about it after. He said he thought about fighting back and dropped his arm that was covering his face so that he could turn round and have ago and straight away Mike hit him in the face, so he just covered up again.
If that was now then the cage would be in melt down and Ware would miss more than the rest of that game for sucker punching.

He was thrown out of the 19-2 game on a match penalty and missed the game the following night in Edinburgh. If I remember correctly and I will check later because I have the game on DVD Phil Butler was involved in the incident as well.

Think I might have it somewhere as well 5+game. I can remember laughing at Phil Butler as he jumped on Ware's back trying to fight him.

Phil butler played about 2 shifts a game and got thrown out of more games than he finished. Stupid enough to spear Shannon Hope in the stomach in the B&H cup final and get thrown out that year, he was only on the ice for about 10 seconds aswel.

From yesterdays training Henley seemed just about ready so id guess he will play in at least the home game this weekend. They didnt mention Werner which tells me he wont be playing, looked in pain after yesterdays training so Continental Cup will probably be his first game back.

Forgive me if I'm wrong, but the way I read that was that Henley won't be playing this weekend? It says "he skated yesterday, rests today and could skate again this weekend"?
I don't know whether skating means training or playing!!

I would be surprised to see Kwall, Henley and salters and we know that Wren and Werner wont play.
My only worry going into the games is net minding. I don't think Conway is strong enough to bail us out like kwall does and unfortunately with the way we play we rely heavily on the goalie

I'd love Kalus on one line and Salters on his usual line. I can see them to causing havoc. Two lines that will hopefully check the hell out of Steelers.
