BBR picked the wrong team to mess with. Hope Moray's been able to explain away all these phone calls from the same number to Mrs Hanson

Ah, the righteous have returned!
I note you don't mention that DaCosta was injured on the play and looks like he'll be out for 4 weeks, far longer than any ban Bagron has received. But hey, don't let facts stand in the way of a good dig!

Countdown to stupidity that is the suggestion players should be banned for as long as the injured player is off for.....

There certainly seem to be a lot more bans around this season and for longer as well.
I don't think the league is any dirtier than in the past, so I can only assume it's an attempt to clamp down.
I guess time will tell whether it's a good thing, my biggest concern is that generally in this country we do tend to have quite short benches, so lots of bans along with injuries could well lead to us watching very short benched teams playing, which isn't a good thing.
I guess it brings up the old question of whether the ban should be on the club or the player? I certainly think there should be a limit on how many games a club should play an import down, with perhaps 5 being the maximum.
Regards
Doom

Too many lengthy bans floating around the league this year. It seems you only have to sneeze towards somebody these days and Moray will boot you for 5 games. Dangerous acts need to be acted upon but we also have to think about what it's actually costing the clubs to be continually missing players through over zealous suspensions for what accounts to very little.

Agree with the above. imo it was the consistency issue that needing sorting, not more and longer suspensions.

the thing is tho, Hanson in most cases is just handing out the minimum ban for the offence as laid out by the IIHF so what can you do.

I'm not really qualified to comment on whether the tariffs are correct but there does now seem to be some consistency of the follow up punishments however the quality of the refereeing on the ice seems to be consistently poor!
So maybe we need a little more than consistency!

Not having a go at you or anything 5+G, but how can the IIHF supply a minimum tariff when they cover so many different league structures? A 5 game ban here might be far harsher, or more lenient, as a proportion of total league games than a 5 game ban in another structure.

Moray has stated tho a couple of times that he is using the minimum tariffs that they set out.
