Just seen that Max Lacroix from Sheffield has a broken ankle sustained at the weekend and needs surgery today. Not a good time for either of our clubs at the moment with these injuries to such good players. Here's wishing him a very speedy recovery and that all goes well with the op.

Seems to be off a similar length of time as our very own Werner, shame for them as he was one of their most prolific players to date...

Was he the Steeler that Henley ran over on Saturday night? If so, then hope he gets well soon, having someone Henleys size go over you can't be good for your health.

Oh that is sad I was at the game on Saturday and was gobsmacked to see so little help from his team when he went down. Wish him a speedy recovery.

Bad luck for him, you'd think it's a worse break than Eric's too, given he needs surgery on it (I don't think Eric did?).
Hope it heals up correctly for him.

I was going to say - no one went and picked him up - shows the spirit isn't there yet.
Speedy recovery - it's not an injury I'd wish on any player

Having broken my ankle twice I feel for the guy. Lacroix seemed to be Steelers one shining light on Saturday so is appalling luck. Wish you a speedy recovery and return to the ice.

He is a very dangerous player so sorely missed by Steelers. Wish him all the best in his recovery.

Seemed really innocuous when it happened, but he just didn't get up. Very unlucky.

I liked the guy and I think Sheffield will struggle without him.
I hope he recovers soon.

I would also like to wish Max a quick and full recovery from his broken leg. No one wants to see any sportsman get a serious injury. Get well soon Max

When he went down on Saturday I thought he just looked winded. Really bad luck for the bloke, hope he gets sorted.

Thank you all. I will pass on your best wishes to Max.
Here's hoping we both see our injured players back to full health in a timely manner to continue what looked like decent starts for the both of them.

As a fan, I want to see the best players week in, week out. Werner is one of those guys and from what I've seen of lacrouix, he wasn't too shabby. Let's hope both are back sooner rather than later and we can talk about them playing against each other rather than sitting on the sidelines together

Huge loss for Sheffield. Hate to see anyone injured for any serious length of time. Best wishes.

Never ceases to amaze me just how physically tough these guys are.
Double fracture and stays down hurt for a bit then skates off - albeit aided by a team mate. This after Werner tried to play on at Fife with a broken leg.
Unbelievable in an age where overpaid prima donna footballers roll around and writhe in agony over the most minimal of 'injuries'.

I'll put my hand up here, when I saw him lying on the ice after what seemed such a minor bump my first thought was 'diving git', or words to that effect. Such thoughts may have been heightened by the feelings you get when surrounded by a sea of orange in block three but I still feel a little ashamed, given the news.
Hope he gets better soon. Its never nice to see any players hurt badly no matter which team they play for.
