With no injuries Possibly, although it would mean all the anonymous calls I've made to Nikes and Shmyrsy, telling them all the hurtful things the current lot have said about them, would've been a complete waste of time...

Very enjoyable evening - certainly beats watching the T.V. _ Clarkie must have been surprised with the turnout of fans - great to see some of the old players back, looks like we may need to sign a few of them up for the next few games - welcome to the next ten years David

What a cracking night! Don't think it could have gone any better for Clarke! Loved the fact his kid an Neilsons kids played. Loved the "fights" and shymr and Nieckar coming in as backup! Loved Rasto doing his 'celebration' at the end and taking the net off at the start.
Every single guy out there looked like they loved it and fair play to Kirkham and Hicks for coming to help.
My favourite part of the night was the fact Neilson seemed to be having the time of his life. As much as I am pleased this night happened for Clarkey, I think it was brilliant for Neilson to be able to just relax and have fun. I do not envy the pressure of his job and understand why he comes across so serious normally but I think a lot of people saw a side to Neilson tonight that they don't normally see and that for me was fantastic
Clarkeys speech was pretty emotional too! Almost had me going!
Well done Clarkey!!

I dread to think how many injuries we picked up in that battle... Although apparently Henley warmed up but didn't play - re-injured in the warmup, Ted? Was good to see the old boys back. Glad DC seemed to enjoy it.

Didn't go, but I heard that there was a line of Clarke and his son with Corey and his lads.. Bet that was a laugh.

A wonderful night to recognise a wonderful player. Was fantastic to see so many fans and players turn up to show their respect and admiration for what, in my opinion, is one of the greatest players to step on British ice. He deserves the love shown to him tonight! He gives all he can to anything he does, has time for the fans, respects the club and the shirt he is wearing. He really is one of the nicest blokes you could meet, and you could see how much it all meant to him in his speech at the end. Well chuffed for him.
Have to say, some of the "old" boys still looked pretty damned sharp and wouldnt look out of place playing in the EIHL now. Molin sill looked a skillful as ever, Alhroos was his usual self, Rasto made some top saves (i know it was only a testimonial game, but some of the shots he stopped were top draw). I agree with the above as well, the DAB, MacAslan, Molin line had me drooling. You imagine that all star team being a proper team, all at their prime, they wouldnt lose a game!
Anyway, top night.

Cracking night. Thoroughly enjoyed it.
I even mentioned the DAB McAslan Molin line as part of our #PHL coverage lol.
Corey's penalty for "coming out of retirement" was class, as was his reaction to it...the race where Corey had his own whistle to gain a head start over Matt Ryan...the gang up on Clarke (which included Hicks) to dump him onto the Panthers bench, only for him to emerge with the Panthers jersey on was funny.
Poor Saari just couldn't nab himself a goal though could he? Some cracking saves to deny him from both Rasto and Gospel!!

Decent program for the man and I'll admit I got a tear in the eye from the speech. Thank god we don't have testimonials regular.losing all my man cred. I'll forgive him for not getting me a PO winning cap but need him to just break those all-time assist records soon over 3 guys above him.....

Bearing in mind some see him as a puck hog that will shoot on sight, and never passes.. It's in the Fixtures 'sticky' thread shorty.....always been there. FIFTH message down sir...on this thread certain messages are updated like the CUP and LEAGUE results and this one on DC. I delete any messages I leave that show that the thread has been updated to keep it less congested and thus these early messages are virtually the only ones seen on page ONE.

Just been looking at those top ten milestone stats. Considering length of service is the norm for testimonials (whatever club you are at)...of 'our' players to have dressed for us most have had them in this modern era.
I think next due would be the likes of Mat Myers (now with Cardiff) and and TAIT who plays in Coventry once again.Less I have missed any of these.Perhaps Ashley is due one?
Zamick, Strongman and Westman all from the earlier periods who can be inducted into a Panthers HoF eh?
To mention Greg Hadden , having had a testimonial also from recent times yet lower on the 'games played front than Marc Levers, Graham Waghorn, Gavin Fraser, Corey Neilson plus Smith and Allen from the first era.
Of those who may have played/coached for us but done so largely elsewhere Abel, Carpenter, Blaisdell , Bobyck, Brebant and Moria have had them. Can anyone think of others?

Ashley will probably get one if he stays at Coventry another season. Jon Weaver would probably get one at some other clubs but not here.
I prefer the Panthers way of doing testimonials and shirt retirements. Some clubs give out testimonials and retire shirts for how long a players career has been and not for service to the individual club. Stephen Cooper had his shirt retired by Coventry yet he only played there for a couple of seasons.
I'm a fan of the way football and cricket give out testimonials you have to have played for the club for at least 10 seasons to get one. All the Panthers players apart from Greg who have had testimonials have played for the club for 10 or more seasons.
