Straight from article: "GMB Panthers have made another key signing for the new season with the capture of former NHLer Bob Wren. The 38 year old Canadian brings a wealth of experience with stints at the highest of club levels in North America and Europe on his CV. He made a handful of appearances in "the show" at Anaheim and Toronto as well as spells in Germany's DEL and Bundesliga as well as Austria. He is a left handed centre who ticked a lot of boxes for head coach Corey Neilson: "I remember Bob leaving me for dead in juniors with his speed and skills. His numbers have been very good on every team he has played for and we can't wait to see him plying his trade in a Panthers' uniform. "He is a key signing for us. He is a skilled forward with a lot of vision and hockey knowledge. He's very keen to join us and his enthusiasm for winning is another key factor." www.panthers.co.uk/content/gmb-panthers-sign-ex-nhler-bob-wren?utm_source=twitterfeed&utm_medium=twitterGreat signing in my opinion, looks very good and will hopefully make our opositions nets look like a coal bin!

He's only played a handful in the NHL, he's primarily an AHL and DEL player. www.eliteprospects.com/player.php?player=11576Stats are immense in the AHL. Anyone who can get a 100 point season in the AHL and have a point a game in the DEL and nearly a point a game in the AHL is a good signing. He does pick up alot of PIM's are those for roughing and being an agitator? Good looking signing overall.

happy with this signing dispite the age , is this end of David Ling? I'd hazard a guess and say yes it does... However, should Ling come back, then,

Looks a very good signing to me and with this signing being the end of Ling. A compilation of his time at Vienna Capitals (Austria) video below. Wonder what number he will be wearing, he wears 18 at Vienna and 9 at Ingolstadt. My hope is 9 =P

Very happy with this signing, bring a wealth of experience and judging by his video some slick hands and quick wheels.
now one out and out sniper for the last slot and we'll be shaping up very nicely. i feel we have an awful lot of passers at the minute with nobody like graham and ling to have a real knack of sticking them in the back of the net.
someone in the mould of Sean McAslan (i know hes retired...) would be perfect

I feel the same Gilly, great signing and should do as well as Ling imo. Out and out goal scorer now and we should have a good forward set.

Quality signing - we need a younger Beau/McAslan on his line

Looks a bit Fox-esk to me in some of the youtube clips - thats no bad thing! Agree with sentiments above - out and out goal scorer required next please.
Off topic, still hoping that Werner will return next season.

Love this from Corey in the NEP:
"He's been a pro for a while now but he still loves to play and is even on the ice four times a week in the summer. "He is a key signing for us. He is a skilled forward with a lot of vision and hockey knowledge. "He's very keen to join us and his enthusiasm for winning is another key factor."

Great Signing. The article also states that either Ling OR Graham may come back:-
"Offers are still on the table for last season's triple crown winning forwards David Ling and Bruce Graham, although only one spot is now available, as well as defencemen Eric Werner and Jason Beckett".

I know a lot of people will be looking at Cardiff and Sheffield this season who are making some great signings. But looking at our team coming together, theres a hell of a lot of quality going in there.
Wren to me looks like a Ling replacement - almost like for like with age, points, pims etc - but if Ling was to return and play with him... Omphhhh!

All these newbies, lets hope they all gel pretty quickly, I really hope we manage to keep at least a couple more of last years team, to say Corey stated all were offered contracts for this season not many have taken the offer. Then again its a good time to move on when you've won everything on offer.

3 Import spots left, 1 Forward, 2 Defence.
Ling or Graham - I like Bruce but Ling has the quality which would help us alot (Bruce is also very good but Ling tops him)
The two defence spots i could see Beckett return with a new import even though i would like Werner to return.
The league is shapping up very well, the best i have seen it. Lots of ex NHLers which can only improve our leagues reputation and there also seems to be quite a few enforcers so i would imagine that the pysical part of the game will have i bigger role than last season.

It seems the majority of sides are signing better quality players who aren't adverse to dropping the mitts if needs be. Hopefully this will even out the playing field for both conferences and the league overall

This guy looks a combo of Ling & Fox..... which sounds ridiculous thinking about it.
I'd rather have Graham back than Ling to compliment. He needs a sniper type next to him.
