Ideally it should be at a neutral venue. However, the advantage of Nottingham is that: a) It is in the middle of the country, with good transport links. b) Other arenas have issues, such as angles of seats c) it is the NATIONAL ice centre- why not have the big national finals there? d) Neutral venues - The O2 is probably too big. Not sure about Manchester. Most other big arenas don't have ice pads. e) The NIC is in the middle of a vibrant city centre - not like Sheffield (I confess to never visiting Belfast).
So Nottingham it is then.

Refering to the announcer. Bar Stef I think this guy comes across very well for this event.

There is no real viable alternative. Until there is the whingers will just have to suck it up. The whingers won't have to suck it up! The whingers will just stop going! There are lower crowds every year now and it will only get worse.

Just fill it with more panthers fans and Scottish fans , if Sheff aren't bothered then make sure Scottish teams wipe the floor with them on the way to the playoffs .
Rather a bunch of real fans there than 'plastic paddies' as I heard someone call them.

Motorpoint has to do something about their seating before the PlayOffs is held there. Belfast would be more than fine, albeit the most expensive option for 9/10 teams fan bases. I feel a problem (among others) with both the Motorpoint and Odyssey arenas is the rake of the seats. The angle of the seating isn't steep enough, placing the crowd a fair distance from the ice very quickly as you move towards the back of the block. I know some people dislike the steepness of the NIC but it places everyone closer to the action. The EIHL are never going to pay for possibly four teams to fly to Belfast at the end of the season and I hear that the jury is still out on the Motorpoint even having a long tern future at all so it's all a moot point anyway.

I was surprised how many empty seats there was yesterday. Well the Mrs and I were priced out this year £85 each is just too much. It wasn't so bad in seasons past when "restricted view" seats at a reduced price were available but the arena decided against that this year for some reason. We managed to sneak in after we scored the OT winner though

You mean they're refurbishing it this summer for nothing Looking forward to the new plexi and seating there come september

Personally I'd love it to be in Belfast. And as it normally falls during the Easter school holidays I expect a number of families could tie it in with a family holiday. Belfast is a great city when we go for the double header and the atmosphere for Playoffs would be awesome.
