I've just sent a letter to the Elite League. I'm not expecting a reply but I thought another missive might help.

Last time I emailed them they replied pretty quick.
However many time they say no flash photography though there's always a dozen or more who don't hear. There was someone on row b in block 6 happily taking flash photo's all game.
Somebody did semi-shout and say no flash photography to which a mate of mine then shouted, 'who'd want a reminder of tonight anyway'.
I don't see a problem with photography as long as there's no profit involved. But why do people insist on using flash? In the past 've used disposable 35mm cameras and top of the range digital equipment and you don't ever need flash in there.

Agreed, flash is totally unnecessary - I only have a bottom of the range digital and can get a decent shots alongside ones which get deleted. The block 6 snapper was the catalyst for the announcer saying that taking photographs is not allowed.

The block 6 snapper was the catalyst for the announcer saying that taking photographs is not allowed. And I thought it was me that prompted it as I had just been showing my mates my video of Ryan's fight with a steward nearby. Just bought a new camera and they announce NO photos at all. :-( Ice

I took many sneaky photos with my phone, it would have to be one shrewd steward to spot photos being taken off a camera phone when they have 2-3 blocks to look after

I haven't had a reply from the league either.
I felt so at loss with nothing to do between stoppages. Even when the team loses, I used to be able to enjoy the pics I had taken that night. Not anymore, thanks Elite League.
Going to re-submit the mail I sent and do so every week until they send me a reply.

It's such a pity that the game that is sold to fans is so 'closed shop'. Even more a pity that they cannot reply to an email. Theres how much people care.
I would have thought that web-sites and such material , produced promotion of and an array of interest to the sport.

It is petty. Why, with respect to the NHL, are they clamping down on one of the minority sports in the UK? They aren't bothered at football, or rugby. It's a big day out for some people, and they'd have some memories to cherish. DP does a stirling job, but it's more satisfying if you have your own, personal touches to the evening.

We've had this ban in Sheffield since the 2nd game of the season, I've also e-mailed the Elite league with no reply. Sorry to hear you guys now have it because I like the lighting in the nic Dave.

We've had this ban in Sheffield since the 2nd game of the season ...and judging by several posts on Steel Talk it's ineffective, and not being enforced.

The programme carries the ' no flash photography' still in the last game...page 36.
