Want to see more bad losing teams attack celebratory players ? Nope . Hardly does much for the sport

Does anyone think the whole thing was brilliant and we need to see much more of it? Amusing certainly, dill. And watching it I agree with what various others have said, not much to it really.

Also a big well done to Benn Olson - the whole Braehead team on the ice to choose from and he picks out that big lad (5'8") Sam Zajac. Top work tough guy The very same Zajac who Lepine no choiced earlier in the season.

The same Zajac who got a guy 62lb heavier and 10" taller to turtle not too long ago?

Top work tough guy The very same Zajac who Lepine no choiced earlier in the season. That's not what happened though. Nothing wrong with what Lepine did. Zajac tries to stick up for a team mate, flew in during a melee and they both landed a few glove punches. Lepine then gave him a few slaps as they hit the ice. Both called for roughing if I recall. Fair play to Zajac for sticking up for a team mate and taking on a much bigger opponent. Lepine hardly 'no choiced' him though.

At 27:40, Werner 2 mins Hooking, Lepine, Zajac, Farmer all 2 mins Roughing.
But don't let facts get in the way of a whinge.

Top work tough guy While Sammy is not in the same fighting league as Olson, he's had quite a few scraps before and done OK in them, so it's not like he 'chose' just the smallest guy. Not saying Zajac is a heavyweight or anything, just a bit of background

What annoys me is that teams are doing it after the final hooter. This is sport - whatever has happened during the game is over once the hooter goes. I'm afraid if you play sport you have to be man enough to accept that - if you can't, then sport is simply not for you, it doesn't matter what sport it is. Look at how boxers behave after the final round.
Sending a message with a minute or even a second left (like when the Racers went after Panthers) is completely different because that's during the game.
Thommo needs fining pretty heavily - they can't keep on letting it happen. People saying this incident wasn't that bad - that was only because the Clan didn't fight back so it died down pretty quickly.
Anybody remember what bans Nieckar etc got after that Belfast game back in the day? And the difference there was that they were only responding to Johnson and Schulte going after Purves after the final hooter and sticking up for their captain.

Ted, the reference to whinge was about the earlier "no choicing " post, not yours. I'll be more explicit next time.

Lepine neither 'no choiced' Zajac nor did he 'go after him' though as per my earlier post. There's a video of the event knocking around and you'll see that Zajac actually goes for Lepine. Totally different to what Olson did where he picked Zajac out of the entire Braehead team that was on the ice

Zajac was involved with Campbell who had already dropped his gloves. Zajac was then about to shed his mitts to go with Campbell. Then Olson came flying in. Why would Olson choose to skate past the entire Clan line-up to go for Zajac when Campbell was already set to go with him? If Penner/Lepine had chosen to skate past Robinson and Lee during the bench brawl and instead gone for Dan Carlson or Greg Owen would that have been ok?

If i remember correctly Nieckar received a 7 game ban for that altercation in Belfast
