Will Olsen finally drop his helmet if he drops his gloves!! You mean like he did the first time he fought Lepine and convincingly beat him. I think the question should be Will Lepine just "seatbelt" again if he drops the gloves?

The main thing is All the players need to keep out of the box and stay fit for the coming weeks With the Brits on GB duty you never know what will happen , so we don't want any bans incase we get GB injuries

I think the question should be Will Lepine just "seatbelt" again if he drops the gloves? olson has not convincingly beat him... when they dropped the gloves and lids and went for it lepine landed 1 great punch that rocked olson, if lep would of got 1 more in olson was going down, but that was not to be but after that they both got a few more in before olson headlocked lepine and started body shotting, no clear win there at all Show me the video of this convincing win please, I don't recall Olsen convincingly beating Lepine.

Watch the fight on the game dvd. Lepine gets hurt big time with a punch and then just holds on for life.

He know's he can't beat him, so holds on for dear life each time they drop the gloves. I think he knows deep down he can't beat him so hangs on. At least he drops them I guess. Wilson might be better going with Olson than Lepine IMHO.

I totally disagree, I think Lepine had issues with his balance but Olsen's arms were swinging all over the the place and many of those swings did not connect. He might have hit his padding but but he never landed much on Lepine's head. On foot, without padding etc, I think Lepine would hammer the hell out of Olsen!

Olsen seems to have done his job pretty well imho for a player of his ilk, fights and defends so what more can you want? He takes some dumb penalties but a player in his mould (ie Lepine) who doesnt? If we didnt have Lepine would certainly consider Olsen as a replacement...

I too think we over hype Lepine in the fight department. Olsen is a good fighter but if were to lose Lepine I dont think I would consider Olsen as a replacement. He can fight but there are far better defenders out there who can fight equally as well if not better.

Lepine catches one square on the chin and his legs buckle!!! Olson - overrated by some mindless blaze fans . Olson is the toughest guy in the league without a dought!!

I agree with zuk. Lepine isn't a heavyweight fighter. Look what happened when he fought heavyweights, like Colt King and now Olson. He's a very good middleweight and will fight heavys, but he doesn't often fare well.
He won't go toe to toe with Olson, I think he knows he will get beat. If they go again, watch what happens, Lepine will hold his arms and go for a takedown.

Wilson is tough for sure and is good at what he does but lets not get ahead of ourselves. The last thing Wilson is is a heavyweight!!! He has always done well when he's fought middleweights/light heavy's but from the times he's fought genuine heavyweights 9 times out of 10 he loses.

I've asked this of the 'fight fans' a few times but have never received an answer but here goes again, can someone provide me a link to the NHL or IIHF ruling that deals with the weight classifications of ice hockey players?
It seems that the terms 'heavyweight' etc get chucked about with such authority/certainty that surely its based on something official rather than people who are getting boxing or MMA confused with a minor part of another completely different sport?

James it's not official ranking. Heavyweight would be aimed at the top class of fighters, who are very good at it. Olson is one, penner, mcmorrow etc are others. Middle weight fighters tend to be ones who aren't as good but will readily fight, and would likely get beat by a heavy weight. They also tend to be players who could fight but are good top end players. Wilson, lepine, keefe would be in this bracket IMHO.
I assume you are are being sarcy with your question as you know there are no official classifications. But you want an answer anyway. Maybe someone like zuk or Andy can give you a better answer.

Penner would ruin Olsen.
He looks like Neil from the inbetweeners without his helmet.
The weight thing is like boxing, out and out fighter being the top rank. If you look on any nhl'ers stats you will see weight
