With the lockout over the ECHL and other leagues at the double A level around Europe are going to lose a lot of players in the reshuffle. What are the chances of seeing a significantly number of EIHL players making the moves to fill the gaps?
The gaps are not just left by the NHLers but the displaced placed players returning to fill their original slots. Things are going to get a bit messy in my opinion.
Still glad to have the NHL back but will be interesting to see. One impact easy to see instantly is the KHL all star game, 5 of the 6 players on the first lines were NHLers.

I don't personally see that, in terms of the EIHL, we're particularly punching above our weight in terms of player quality this season as compared to previous years, so I don't think we'll see any huge amount of movement.

Worst case scenario... DAB isn't here yet... horrible timing? (No, I don't truly believe that he wouldn't come back here... but I've been wrong before!). According to a poster on THF, the Cardiff Devils will be making a statement on the subject after their game tonight. Maybe it's just a confirmation (stating the obvious?) that Bissonette won't be back... there's also speculation that it'll be a throwing in of the towel by Paul Ragan on any chances of strengthening their roster for the rest of the season. Sure as hell, it's going to be harder now for any EIHL club to pick up another decent import. Which hopefully can only be good for us (assuming everything stays as is) - seeing as we're at full strength and looking in good shape.

Can't see it happening. Although it would be funny if champagne walked out.

Or even a 'corked' bad taste....what a corker that would be.

I think Sheffield have won 3 trophies more than us (cup'league and play-off) so win all 3 this season and that would cause a 'stir'.....hee

Not sure of the trophy count but why would it cause a stir? You've been going significantly longer than us and in all fairness your trophy cabinet doesn't contain many league titles.

Back on topic Paul Thompson has heard from reputable agents that the UK will be a target for European clubs to fix their rosters as many have big shorffalls. Simple economics is they can offer a lot more money than the EIHL teams.

There will be movement, as the top Euro Leagues take players from higher league's than ours those will then look to the likes of ours to fill those spots. As we are top of our league we will be a likely target.
