Definitely good decision by Corey there! And DAB gets another game too!

Excellent decision. No doubt 'others' will decry Panthers of not taking it seriously though.

No one can complain about us not taking it seriously ... Why should we ?
If GB as whole took it seriously we would have a real friendly.

I think the Panthers have proven thy out loyalties lie within our own club - good. It gives our "first choice" imports chance to rest up and be ready for the remaining fixtures.
I'm sure it'll annoy a few out there but if no one can be bothered to arrange a full international fixture then there's little reason why any of the EIHL clubs should obligate to help.

Because of course it's so easy to arrange for a foreign international team to come over here and play us in the middle of the season, isn't it? (That's sarcasm, BTW... in case anyone missed it). Remember that this isn't in the direct run-up to the World Championships when plenty of other teams could do with a warm-up game... this is a couple of months before that, and hardly any other international teams are going to be competing this early. So what's in it for them to come all the way over here (taking players - mid-week no less -from clubs mid-season and not during one of the international breaks)?? Not much...

By the way. I'm going and have car space if anyone wants a lift. I start out at junction 26 of M1 as I live in Eastwood.

Never said it would be easy but it should be done if we are serious about trying to progress. Surely a European team might want to come over for a game. It also doesn't have to be mid week, with more preparation it could have been a weekend date. I'm not saying everything I have put is a must just think that game against teammates who aren't going to be taking the game seriously is hardly preparation.

Don't want any injuries before the games do we. Too late - Weaver has already been replaced in the GB lineup by Lee. Murphy also out injured so Stevie Lyle returns to the fold.

Went to the game tonight. Not bad at all.....6-3 to the GB (20 players to the 16 Import select).. Nielsen and Clarke scoring. Grand shirts made up for the 'Import' side but no programme for the fans.Oh well forget us then...again. Raffle for a GB shirt and an 'Import' shirt....made me wonder what 'one' of the GB players is going to play in now as they fly off tomorrow to Latvia.Or is there two sets? lol
