We dont need Corey? I think thats unfair. He's been a fantastic servant to this club and is only playing so we're not short this weekend. So yes we do need him in these circumstances. And I personally think our forwards at times have missed him. And hopefully it means we won't have to have Levers and Fox dropping in to cover D and can be used to play their forward roles.

Thats a real shame especially with this weekends game in Cardiff. He may not have been everyone's cup of tea but I have enjoyed watching his speed and skill in the corners and he definately fitted well into our team. I for one would like to wish him the very best and thank him for his contribution.

Stewart was something of a disappointment on the points front, although he was entertaining to watch. A bit of a pity that he's going home early... but hey ho.
It's a good job that Corey is fit again and ready to step back in. There's only one possible downside to this. Our defence is massively improved from last season (and September of this season?) - now there is the possibility (and it's no more than that) that Corey's known tendencies towards being an offensive Dman might upset this balance. I'm sure there will be those not particularly enamored of Mr Nelson who will jump on that assumption and ride it to the end of the railroad, but it's only speculation with little or no hard evidence to support it. All we can do is wait and see...

Massive loss to the team in my opinion.

Don't forget there is a possibilty of Corey playing as a forward he did do it a few seasons ago I believe at various times under Ellis so may not effect the defence

I wonder if any of the other NHL'rs will be getting the call shortly?

Massive loss to the team in my opinion. Can't help but agree. He had a tendancy to look a bit uninterested, but I think that was just how he comes across. His work in the corners was tremendous, and the way he shielded the puck along the boards was a joy to watch.

Personally i thought Stewart was a good signing. He just seemed too far ahead of his line mates. Some of his passes were beautiful, there was just no one there to get on the end of them, when maybe there would have been in the NHL. Everytime he crossed the blue line, he took a defenceman with him to create space for the rest of the players. I would welcome his back. Good luck to him in the future.

Stick handling ok but really Francis contributed more than him as far as effort and points, he was operating at 50% of his ability in my view just compare his effect on us compared to the guy Coventry got.
very unimpressed or maybe i expected too much take your choice.

Big loss for me =(.
I love what he showed in the corners and his speed that takes out several defenders. We can not compare him to Belesky (blaze) I believe because Stewart was on our third line (EDIT - until recently) compared to Belesky whos on the top line and plays huge minutes in games. He is purple at times !
Not saying Belesky isnt good because he is and I would have him on our team any day just saying comparing players we need to at least find similar players.
Hope to see stewart again soon but really looking forward to Wilson !

Uppercut " Personally i thought Stewart was a good signing. He just seemed too far ahead of his line mates". The line mates which I saw most of the time were Clarke and Fox - who are not too shabby. Jono says a huge loss, but in what way. Yes good on the boards and pace, but I thought there could have been more end product. I would agree with Oldman that the contribution of Francis has been more telling. As pointed out Corey can play further forward.

I'll miss him, seemed to get any puck thrown into the corners, even two on one and delivered a mean check. Would be interesting if Corey played up front, I think we could do with a big body in front of the crease.
Shame that biz had not been recalled yet, as he seem to have had a massive impact on that team.

In the end it is opinions and if we all agreed this place would be sterile and boring.

Trouble with signing NHLers is people's expectations, most folks thought NHL=goals and assists. I must admit I was one of them but Stewart won me over with his play, he was a great physical presence and to be fair we haven't had anyone since Kevin Bergin as good as him on the boards. It doesn't bother me about his point production, where were we when he arrived and where are we now? Team game. In a way I'm glad we didn't sign a player who would bang the goals in cos we always knew that they would go back. Also, I hope Corey plays as a forward, he's not as daft as we all think, defence is doing fine at the minute, why shake it up? He knows this, he's a big enough boy to slot in and try to take over the Stewart role till Mr Wilson arrives.

I am just saying yes there NHLers buts how they are used that you need to compare. Jeez.

It seems strange he's been called back when the news across the pond is that Crosby is looking to play in Europe and the recent meetings ended sorting nothing. Bettmann was furious at the news conference in regards the players offer.

Agree with Moz. Seems strange he has gone back when other NHLers are still here. All seems to be planned as far as I can see but trying to put some spin on it about him loving his time here but was forced back.

In his interview he does say his agent and club have re-called him, and it does seem strange that the other NHL'rs are still here, but his stint would have been over at Christmas anyway, Lets hope the new guy is here soon and raring to go cos he's going to have to be fit as a fiddle for the Christmas games

It also seems strange to go virtually the day before what is lets face it is a big game for us at Cardiff. Maybe personal reasons.
