Much ado about nothing. Didn't bother me one iota.

It did make you realise how very, very good Stef is. The salient points of the penalty announcements are offending team, player number, name, category of penalty, name of penalty and time of penalty. Stef always does them the same, in that order, as it should be. No bias or intonation other than what it is. Information to the game's attendees. GM was doing the order randomly, it seemed, and it was just plain confusing. Must've been hell trying to fill in a programme. And you always announce the visting team penalties first if there are penalties to each side. Stef can cope with that simple rule. GM seemingly can't. He probably shouldn't give up the day job. As with the penalty shooting in overtime it seems.Stef is the benchmark.

I can assure you Yotes i'm neither. For me the bloke sitting next to me and the woman sitting behind were 100 times worse, forever chirping at Darnell on saturday night.
Bigger things in life to moan about.

I think this is a case of less is more for Mr Moran.
He does the Panthers radio, tv etc. People will just get fed up of your voice and cringe after a while.

I heard that when the Elite League Sky Sports production went out, GM was an option as the front man. Uhm. GM or DS. Difficult call.

Once again I am flattered and touched by so many kind comments in my favour. I am in the middle of another elderly parent/fall/fracture situation. This time its more complicated because it's my mum with the fracture (leg) and she has Alzheimers, so she can't understand what she's doing in that soul-destroying Lubyanka that is the QMC. I hope to be there on Saturday, but those of you who have dealt with Alzheimers will know that you can't predict what state the person will be in from day to day, hour to hour even. Those of you who haven't experienced a loved one with Alzheimers, well, I hope you never do. It is a cruel, cruel condition. I also want to thank my fellow off-ice colleagues for their support. I also want to place on record my gratitude to Gary. This is the second time this has happened to me and on each occasion it has brought a compassionate and supportive response from Gary that I have very much appreciated.

Stef - I'll say this publicly as well as replying to your PM... I think that I probably speak for a lot of people when I say that you are an integral and very much appreciated part of the Nottingham Panthers match-night experience. We miss you... but family comes first - every time. I for one hope to see - and hear! - you on Saturday... but if I don't, I know that there's a very good reason for it. I just hope that things get better for you and your mum soon. With regards to the Gary Moran Experience... no, I wasn't much impressed either. Although - despite the fact that I don't really like his style much at all - I do think that a lot of the criticism (hell - outright vitriol!) directed at GM is somewhat over the top. Could any of us do better? Probably not... I'm pretty sure I couldn't (and I've been in similar - though smaller-scale - situations myself, so I know just how hard it can be). Now I don't know about anyone else... but I happen to trust Stef and what he says. And if he says that GM has been compassionate and supportive... well, that doesn't really go well with the Spawn Of Satan (TM) image that is getting portrayed on here (now and in the past). Perhaps GM isn't quite as bad as the more hysterical types on here have been suggesting? Having said that... I know it's your style, GM... but please - tone it down a tad? (In case you or the-person-in-the-Panthers-office-who-monitors-this-forum reads this... ).

Stef - I'm sorry to hear that your mother is unwell. I currently work on a care for the elderly ward (in Leicester) where many of our patients have similar circumstances. Whilst I'd never be so glib as to say I outright know exactly what you are going through, because as a nurse our relationship with a patient can never be the same, I understand some of what you are going through. My thoughts are with you and your family Stef. They are what is truly important.

And again. I'd echo the above, Stef, my thoughts are with you and the family. Take all the time you need.
I've no real issue with the "cheerleading" antics of GM (sponsors pay money to get certain exposure that they've been promised and therefore expect, and moeny makes the world go round, as we know) but please don't confuse that part of the announcer's role with that of "fact giver".

To echo the comments of everyone else, hope your situation improves Stef (however speaking from experience, the disease is a **** and shows no mercy) Having said that... I know it's your style, GM... but please - tone it down a tad? (In case you or the-person-in-the-Panthers-office-who-monitors-this-forum reads this... ). Tell him to his face, he is always up for new ideas (and for the record again, GM was nothing but good to me, and opened some fantastic doors, however times and people expectations change, and sometimes change is good) Again my thoughts to Stef, a genuine good guy in the UK hockey world.
