Just been comparing our OS to Steelers OS and the steelers one gives so much more information.. Panthers don't even have the league tables on their website.. Also think the Belfast site is much better both having the picture board news bulletins like NHL.com

its just an opinion Lee nothing more... personally i use it as little as i can get away with as there is little there i need, such as fixture list etc most of which you can find elsewhere.
However, for new fans (and possibly potential new players) this is generally a first port of call for those with internet access (most these days?..) does it make the right impression that the club are hoping to give? As a player and all you looked at was official sites who would you sign for if you only looked at sheffield, belfast and Nottingham sites?

I think the OS needs a complete rehaul. It comes across as pretty amateur and unprofessional a lot of the time. They need to get a proper writer to do their news/articles because the standard at the minute is pretty crap. I'm sure there must be Panthers fans out there with the necessary credentials.
Also...on a side-note, if Moran says 'What have you' one more time on Panthers radio I think my head will explode.

but... as a new fan, your first impression won't be to compare it with every other clubs, (that only happens when you become an old synic). you want info.
As a new fan the OS has everything you need, so i think its un warranted criticism of the club for the sake of it.
Fixtures, and next one shown clearly - Yep Latest news about the club - Yep Info on the current and old team - Yep Link to buy tickets - Yep (granted at the moment this is not working)
Can't see the issue myself before anything is fixed on the website they need to get that spell check looked at.
as a new fan (which is what we are talking about) you get all you need... a fancy website won't draw people in to the sport. (maybe a video would showing hits etc, but you have to have wanted to come onto the site in the first place to see this, that kind of marketing is vital elsewhere.)

See your point re: new fans and to some extent i do agree with you Lee, my issue is how the club could be viewed by potential signindgs or sponsors, for example with players, (if it isnt all about the money and i suspect alot of the time it is - or at least as part of an over package) then i would look for other things about the club. This may include past successes and past players, other signings and there feelings about the upcoming season, the "dynamism" of the club etc all of which could be extracted from the website. Yes with the panthers site alot of it is there but it pales into insignificance with the more exciting pages seen on our competitors sites..
I accept this may be a small point and in the scheme of things and other valid complaints seen on here regarding the club is pretty petty but it shows imho a lack of forward thinking and a "grab a quick buck now" impression which could oh so easily be changed and at the same time enthuse the fanbase which would in turn encourage them to part with more of their hard earned back into the club?..

The site sucks, i hate how there are no profiles for the new players (steelers have this). It also irritates me that when they are put up we have different size and style of fonts and also pictures. Why not use the pictures that will go in the yearbook?
Spell checker would be of some use seeing as we are taking the nice soon - makes us look unprofessional

I don't think it's unwarranted, for a new fan the first impression you may ever get of the club is likely to be that website, and it looks entirely amateurish. Maybe it doesn't ever put anyone off, but maybe it does. I can't believe they couldn't arrange a small sponsorship deal with a web developer to provide a site and content management system in exchange for advertising space around the place. But yeah, I do tend to agree with Pies that this one is a bit of a moment.

How dare you suggest that Panthers should dip into their profits for the fans benefit? Shame on you.
