I just rang PS to cancel my subscription and was informed that they have got the contract for next season (lockout aside). They reduced my cost to £3.99 a month. I asked if they have plans for HD & the answer i got was "all i can say is we have the NHL for next season". Not a no but certainly not a Yes. Just thought id let anyone no that is interested, nit start another TV v Online thread

Oh <self-moderated>. I was hoping that ESPN America would get it back. Now just to hope that Virgin will add Premier Sports, or it'll be another season with no NHL...

use NHL's GameCenter Live it's going to be running on Xbox as well as PS3 next year. You get every game, regular season and playoffs and a choice of home or away feed.
well worth the £70ish it costs.

I had a call from Virgin trying to get me to switch to them. Told them if they added Premier Sports I might consider it but the guy had never heard of Premier Sports, kept banging on how they already had Sky Sports

Been confirmed Premier Sports have the NHL coverage for the next 4 YEARS. expecting to cover 400 (yes 400) live games in season 2012-2013. Just hope they sort the scheduling out so it records the whole god damn game !!!

Have I read on here you can use Gamecentre on a PS3? yes, last year you had to register a PS username on the US server to do that and get the "app", but i'm told it will be OK to use from UK next season?

Cheers Lee, will be very tempted by that in the autumn then. one other thing, you can save some money if your not interested in "Live" games, if you buy NHL vault instead of GCL (but you do get Vault in with the price) then you can see all the games for a cheaper price (i think its about £40) as all the seasons games are archived in NHL Vault about a day or so after they happen. Vault is great in the offseason, as it has all games from the last 4 seasons on there and archived "classic" games going right back to the 60s.

They do take a while to put the archived games on though, hockeystreams.com are on almost instantly. It's cheaper too.

They do take a while to put the archived games on though, hockeystreams.com are on almost instantly. It's cheaper too. We brought hockeystreams last season, but after streams stopping mid way through, some game feeds just not working and some really poor quality feeds we ended up getting game center. It's more expensive but it is really really worth it. I suppose the proof in the pudding was that when we had both services, Hockeystreams never got a look in.
