"Spend within your means" is basically what I've said. If you interpret this as spending double, triple or however much more than other clubs, then you interpret it that way. What I'm saying is, that when Panthers win the league operating within their current budget, then we would not expect the club to have suffered problems financially that others have experienced. I do not expect that Neil Black will give Corey an open cheque book because he's a businessman and makes money out of his club. I do not think other clubs/ owners have been so prudent when wiining the league. As for Panthers not being whiter than white, so what?? We're still in business and growing as a business to.

I dont see any of our competitors spending any less than currently so if this is the panthers budget then i expect that wait for the league title to be for some time to come..

Better make sure that halo doesn't fall off in the future.

To be honest the EIHL should have strict rules to cover bankruptcy. If a club goes into financial meltdown and bust they should be penalised. For a start they should be given a point deduction that covers 2-3 seasons and any trophies won during the previous years should be removed. It would put a stop to this boom n bust approach.

I think considering how good Coventry were that is a good achievement which baffles me even more why people wanted to get rid of Neilson People want rid because he hasn't won the league have to agree, we want a league no challenge cups and play offs

The fans constantly berate us for not winning the league since 56, but what they constantly do conveniently forget is, that WHEN we do win the league, it will be done the correct way, and doing it within our financial means. I agree, should it take 156 years, it's definitely worth you guys doing it the correct way.

Fully agree. A league win that comes off the back of boom and bust financial planning should never stand. It brings the sport as a whole into disrepute and hardy acts as a good example to other teams. Some folk like to pour scorn on soccer and the 'mentality' of a very small number of its fans but at least soccer's controlling bodies (at least in the UK) have a handle on dealing with clubs who are reckless with their finances and punish them accordingly. If the EIHL followed the Football League's example the Cardiff Devils would have an EIHL-era league title.

They have a control over their clubs maybe but none over their fans lol We get it, you don't like soccer fans but the Premier League/Football League has no more or less control than any other sports governing authority over team's fans. Was the NHL at fault for this?

I'd say that's an exception as opposed to weekly occurrence . Anyway off topic You brought it up! I could give you examples of just how un-exceptional and regular fan violence is in ice hockey but it would keep the thread off-topic.

I'd say that's an exception as opposed to weekly occurrence . Anyway off topic All sport has its tossers, hockey in this country is run by them. On the governing body thing, which I believe is on topic perhaps you can explain the 50 liquidations of teams since 1997 (yes thats 50)
