Our backs are against the wall, but lets help the team turn this around.
If we really want to help the Panthers reach the semi's then we are going to have make LOTS AND LOTS of noise to motivate the team and let them know we are behind them, even if we fall behind.
I watched the Fife Flyers webcast on Sat night and boy did they make some noise. We will hopefully have at least 5,000 people in attendance, so lets rock the house and help the guys turn this one around..... We can do it
Just believe ;D

Lol .... I just want to pull this back and bad. I really want to see the Panthers in the finals and it would be such an anti climax if we missed out..... So lets get behind the team and make some serious noise and I mean LOUD!!!

It all depends on which Panthers team comes out in the first 10 minutes. If the players look like they are playing their hearts out(a few of them could well be playing for a job next season) then I'm sure the crowd will respond.
Generally with sport these days crowds react to what the players produce rather than the other way around. It's not just a NIC/Panthers thing. Ideally it shouldn't be this way but what can ya do...

Well Stratty, Fife finished bottom of the league, were on a huge losing streak but my god did they cheer that team on during the match on Sat, even when there was nothing but pride to play for. We, the fans, can make a difference on Sat, but it depends how motivated the crowd is.
A great atmosphere can really rally the troops and make the difference between victory and defeat!

We, the fans, can make a difference on Sat, but it depends how motivated the crowd is. A great atmosphere can really rally the troops and make the difference between victory and defeat! Small rink and a low roof and you'll be amazed at how loud even a handful of people singing can be. I've now been to enough football stadiums and ice rinks/arenas to know that acoustics play a massive role in atmosphere and the NIC isn't the easiest venue to get rocking. I'm not knocking the Fife fans efforts. I didn't watch the stream at the weekend but as it was their last home game of the season after a positive year for that club(excluding the recent news)I'm guessing it was a bit of a party atmosphere in a building that is already more conducive to creating an atmosphere than our own. I fully agree that a great atmosphere can only help the team but a message on here is going to do diddly squat I'm afraid. If Panthers come out and get an early goal or throw some big hits then the crowd will be on their side. If Braehead can shut us down then we could be in for a very flat night. Just being realistic. I completely support and agree with your motives but sport crowds are very fickle. The biggest factor in how the atmosphere will be on Saturday will be the players. Give us something to shout about!!!

I try to make noise every game, be it a meaningless end of season game vs Edinburgh or a Cup Final.
Make no mistake, this IS a cup final.
If only we were playing Steelers...then the majority of fans may actually care.

I am sure that come saturday we will be cheering the lads on, I know I will be! I think you'll find that the fans care about every game we play, sadly its the club that thinks all is rosy just as long as we beat the Steelers

Sell out VS Steelers every time followed by a 1/2 empty arena for a Cup Final? Sing from the off VS Steelers...don't do anything VS anyone else.

It's a completely different atmosphere Lee. It's like people can only be bothered to make noise when we're playing them.
Widdles me right off coz when we get it going it's awesome...and away from home we're among the loudest too!!
Edit - Language, Timothy.

Edit - Language, Timothy.i agree, but sadly i'm on the side of the fence where the atmosphere is created by the on ice product. more than the other way round. watching us maul Edinburgh 10-0 or whatever will NEVER generate an atmosphere, unless there are hits, and fights and the game is competitive. hence why there is more atmosphere for the games v the top 4. if Panthers come out flying on Saturday, start the game with a few massive hits the crowd will pick up in noise.

You wont get a good atmosphere if the opposition fans either dont show up or are quiet.
Steelers bring the most, and thats why the atmosphere is generally better against them.
When we play away, we are not spread out around the arena, so all of the noisier fans are sat together.

The Panthers will come out flying on Saturday night thats for sure,i would be worried if i was a Brahead fan. Sumo had a very good game on Tuesday and Panthers finishing was poor but i really can't see both of those two things happening again. Crowd won't be huge,it never is for playoff quarter final,it will be 4500 ish if they're lucky, but we can make a big difference thats for sure. I reckon Panthers will have it back to 2-3 within the first ten minutes and then its game on big time !

Thought the atmosphere was quite good this evening and was delighted with the result. I was surprised that such a crucial game only attracted 4500ish supporters. Thought we would have hit over 5k. Still we won and even though my voice is gone I was over the moon to make it to next weekends finals : )
