Sue them for breach of copyright!!! Surely the "unfinished business" line is ours?!?!?!
How many imports does this give the Giants now? 15??
If they don't win the league....

Happy enough.. Gives us a guy who can play forward or defence, adds toughness to the roster, and knows the league.. Hoffman has been playing and fighting pretty regularly in the AHL so he's also coming in fit and ready to play..

Now if ever youwanted a statement of intent to win trophies the Belfast giants have just shown one.

Strange one for me , certainly not going to replace the high end skill they've lost .

Strange one for me , certainly not going to replace the high end skill they've lost . True, but will make them more gritty and give them something different. Big signing imo. But, do their team have the bottle, they didn't last season and neither did Doug!

Probably wishful thinking though!

I cant remember exactly what was said but I'm pretty sure that Hoffman slated the EIHL, UK Ice Hockey and possibly Belfast when he left to go and play in the NHL....
Must be a bit of a bummer for him to have to come back to our beer league...

Wasn't he the massively oversized dancing elf in their christmas video?
Slightly worrying that I remember his dance moves more than his hockey ability, but lots of people seem to rate him as a hard working impact kind of player and if he's coming in match fit then that's a bonus for the Giants.

He did an interview where he called the EIHL a beer league, partly because in his first game he won MOM and was presented with a 12pack of beer as opposed to say a shiny trophy or something. When that match was over he says that the coach DC then says " Right guys everyone into the bar" aka Rockies so I think he was a little surprised as it probably doesn't,happen that often back home.
He seemed to enjoy his time here though he had a difficult time off the ice resulting in him flying home a few times for a family illness, he's coming in fit and will go straight into the side for the CC semi-final against Devils so will hopefully give us something different in front of the net.

If that's all if was then fair enough. My mistake. I had it in my head that he had made comments on standard of play, officiating, facilities etc...

Started last season off well then became pretty much "just another player".

I think its pretty clear that Hoffman isnt what we needed in Belfast, we lost our top two skilled players and on the offensive front we look weak. However given the facts I feel Hoffman was the best player we could get for the money at this point in the season. A big player who I hope plays to his size this time around, as Lloyd is 5'9 and was hitting like a train when he was fit.

Started last season off well then became pretty much "just another player". As mentioned earlier he had a personal loss which resulted in him having to fly home on a couple of occasions and then when he returned our team had been decimated by injuries which forced him onto defence, I think with a clear role in this team he could do very well and gives us a bit of flexibility if needed.

Cant see Hoffman vs King, unless King is really pushing for it. It would be a clash of the titans, can see King winning it. He looks unstoppable this season. I think Keefe vs Duff is more likely, that should be a good scrap.
