After losing Siddall, it is rumoured that Fife have lost Cohen (was injured recently) and now their star player Mike Hamilton, who is a very good player! Wonder who will be next out of the door. I feel for the guys up in Fife, it's going to be a tough three months.

Hamilton has gone and it seems Cohen will be released due to injury. Hamilton was Siddals mate and looks like he has left due to Siddal leaving. What a true pro

If they want to steady the ship they're going to have to bring some new bodies in, and fast, otherwise Hamilton may not be the last rat to jump ship! I understand he's probably fed up of almost always being on the losing team but he must have known the situation and what an uphill struggle this first elite league season was going to be?
I'd hate to see us fall to a 9 team league, I'd prefer the numbers to go up and put a bit of variety into it!

Fife Flyers regret to announce that forward, Mike Hamilton has left the club to join a team in North America's ECHL. The team in South Carolina is coached by a friend of Hamilton and the player hopes to use this move as a stepping stone to playing in the AHL. Director Jack Wishart commented, 'This is a blow for the club so soon after the departure of Siddall to Zagreb but unfortunately there is little we can do about the situation. What we can promise our fans is that we are working vigorously to replace these players as soon as we can and Todd (Dutiaume) has several targets in his sights.' Hamilton has left the club with immediate effect. Read more: fifeflyers.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=general&action=display&thread=430#ixzz1ictglIEL

Oh the old stepping stone to the AHL trick, never gets old. Hopefully fife can get a signing in before it gets any worse.

I understand that but it just seems to be the same excuse, I would just prefer it if players like Hamilton would stick To the contract and give the AHL the shot next season. (if there under contract is my main point).

Clubs get players on the cheap by having it written into their contract that they can leave if a better offer comes along.

A younger Mike Hoffman got called up to the NHL for one game. The Mike Hoffman that played for Belfast got loaned to the Portland Pirates in the AHL and that's as far as he has gone
