Wow he did a great job last night! I'm sick of teams coming to Nottingham and us being all nicey nicey! We stuck it up them last night as they have been doing to us for years! They should be made unwelcome everytime they arrive and leave

They should be made unwelcome everytime they arrive and leave Sort of agree, although I think he was getting a bit much at the end. Unlike most people at the NIC I dont need to be told when to clap and cheer and I certainly dont need to be told when to boo the opponents. One thing that did annoy me was giving DeCaro man of the match, that was a cheap shot from whoever chose it. Would prefer not to stoop that low - it makes a mockery of the whole award.

Agreed, lets be better than them, let the score board rub it in.

Lots of people go on about making the NIC a really unpleasant place for opposition to come and play. I think though that it's up to the fans to create that atmoshpere, not the announcer. Trouble is most Panther fans at the NIC would get told off for being too quiet in a library.

I was at a game recently with a group of friends and actually got stares and hushed for chanting. Although the announcer should be professional in his duties I also believe he can add humour to situations where it is warranted.

Regarding the atmsophere at the NIC - I think you will find that Brian Clough complained of a similar syndrome all those years ago. I have often been down at the Forest and heard people perpetually moan, while others tend to be a bit quiet, but in their own way are passionate about their sport. Its similar at the cricket. Unfortunately in Notts I dont think we exhibit the same passionate behaviour as in other places. Still liked the chanting of the lads in bay 13 last night - keep it up.

I'm sure Simms announced us onto the ice. That to me just seems like basic manners, it's hardly handing over the points before we begin.
Sambo's right, if you want a hostile environment, that's down to us, not Ken.

The Man of the Match for Steelers should have gone to King.

I have to say I disagree with the OP, why stoop to everyone else's level? Take the moral high ground and let the hockey do the talking.
If everyone else's announcers stripped starkers and did a conga round their rink, would you want the Panthers announcer to join in just because everyone else did?

i am sure some find it a crime if you chant for our lot, we make more noise at local footie than some nights at our place, yes let the scorebord rub it in but lets get behind them, makes for a better place to be and a better sport to watch

I originate from Fife and supported them from a kid and the atmosphere in that little rink was amazing, especially when we played the Murrayfield Racers. To me the chanting, shouting, clapping and singing is what makes it such good fun. I am pleased that the announcer gets everyone going and builds the atmosphere - he should be credited for that.

I think people are confusing the stats announcerwho as correctly stated, should by the rules be impartial, with the game night announcer (?) Panthers are one of the few teams that keep them separate.
I was well impressed last night. Thought it was just what we needed. Nearly as funny as the dole cheque comment. I hope he isn't forced to apologise because some people can't take a bit of banter.

In Sheffield's case, what goes around, comes around - a point that I think was made, in a slightly different way, on Steelbleat after the game. Although I don't want to see Ken descend to the rather pathetic and annoying depths that the Brummie Estate Agent sees fit to, a bit of spontaneous humour doesn't go amiss! Good to see the return of the Horseman disguised as a Mexican Luchador in his spandex and black and gold mask. His 'Easy; Easy' antics did more to activate the crowd than anything else. Perhaps we should dub him 'El Pantera'
