As an 11th import gives him time to get game fit. I doubt he's sat around for 2 years and become a big lump. I imagine he'll have kept some sort of shape and can still contribute in this league.

Stinks of desperation. I was a masive fan but, has Mcaslan even played for the last 2 seasons?? What stinks of desperation? Every team would kill for Mcaslan to be on their starting roster let alone an 11th import

Mcaslan has been playing the odd game so hopefully he is good as the 11th import.
2010-2011 Kenora Thistles Senior AAA HNO 2 1 2 3 0 | Kenora Thistles Senior AAA Allan Cup 3 1 2 3 2 | 2011-2012 Bentley Generals Chinook HL 1 1 0 1 0

But that is where I think it would be a bonus to have him, as he won't be damanding to play everyweek, but can probably still do a job as a 9th forward and brings expierence, its not like hes old either, hes only 31. Thats if they can even get a visa for him though

The cavelry should have been called months ago not last minute = desperation.

They best be looking for an AHL standard D man aswell.
Craig weller who was briefly with the Devils would be perfect IMO, get it done!

This guy has played in over 150 games in one of the best leagues in Europe and he has got 100 points in those games and in fact he has got a good PPG in a lot of good leagues such as the Austrian league and the Allsvenkan. Sean Mcaslan has missed one full season and is a top player who would fit the 11th import role perfectly. I really don't think you will find a better player who is willing to come over to be a spare player As for signing AHL players, if you think they want to come to this low paying and relatively low standard league then get real

The only reason AHL players will come is for university and that is the only reason someone like Matt Stephenson is here, of course you get the odd exception of people like Weller and Fleury but those are just because of rare individual circumstances. Barring Stephenson who was a depth player at the AHL level name me the genuine AHL players who are playing for Belfast, Sheffield and Cardiff?

The Euro style rarely suits this league, we shall wait and see, no way he's on the same money as Champagne. The official press release even implies he might not 'work out', wow, fills me with confidence. lol! As for Macca, was a legend, but he retired for a reason, if he is 100% and it's like he never left, then great, not guarenteed though by any means. not even 100% he's even coming. As I say desperation. Have we called Tessier yet?? Why are we 'low paying' History shows AHL players do sign in this 'low standard league' just not for us??

We are richer than all these teams. we have higher attendences, time to get us a better product.

We are low paying, why do think Players in our league jump to other leagues like the Austrian, Italian and German 2nd Division as soon as they get an offer. If you speak to player agents they will tell how little we spend on players compared to other nations such as Italy. Not many AHL players come here at all and in fact there is only 1 in the league at the moment

We aren't going to sign an AHL player on a weeks notice at Christmas. Wait until January and then I'm sure we will see what is available then. I agree that the new guy has a decent pedigree but the chances are that he will be moved on in favour of a North American. Even the PR says it is on a tryout.

The only AHL player in the league is playing for the form team, who look most likely to win the league, shocker!!! Surley we can compete financially with our biggest rivals who have half as many fans and go bust evey other season??? no??

Last year steelers won with a rookie coach (although admittedly inheriting a very expensive team), if panthers dont pull their fingers out they will do it again this season at a canter...

Looking the best on paper doesn't mean anything. You need the right blend not all the best players. Looking at the current rosters, with the addition of Fulghum I'm not so sure your roster does look better anymore. From an outsiders perspective, I'll reserve proper judgement until boxing day, it looks a little underwhelming. A guy from a good league that has moved around a fair bit and not played many games over the last two years with somebody that's not played a pro game for nearly 2 years. As always though time and games will tell, the euro could turn out to be a star.

I know the game isn't played on paper. I was making reference to the point of being able to compete financially with the steelers

Is that guy at the capitals a euro? The one who appears to be tearing the league apart scoring goals and assists for fun with zero penalty minutes playing for a low league team?
