www.skysports.com/story/0,,13998_7139967,00.html I thought it was a fantastic read and he's made some very good points on the team for this year.

Good to see Chiplen back, (when are they going to give him the top Hockey job at sky?) The article is pretty much stating what we all fear at the start of the season. Fearing for our defence is as routine as Steelers fearing for their financial stability, except they don't and we do...
In Corey we trust.

I think the bloke must have forgotten, or doesn't know that this year all teams start with TEN imports. This means other teams will have to have cut either a D-man or a forward. Most seem to have cut a forward, so this should make it slightly easier for our defense. Also while correctly saying we start off numerically the same as last year (defensively), our defense this year comprises two defensively minded imports, Wilson and Lepine (no Zion hurrah - offensive). He also seems to think Meyers will be missing for a while, latest reports indicate otherwise. Along with this I think our forwards are slightly more defensively orientated. So all in all I don't think too much of his opinion, not long now to find out who's right.

personally i think that article is an absolute pile of tosh!
he's completly ignored the fact that all teams now run with 10 imports (some less), he's ignored the fact that we have Steve Lee a year on and ever improving, he's ignored we have maynard. he's ignored that we have a much more defensive minded bunch of forwards.
i strongly disagree with all his arguments. we have 2 stay at home d men, last year corey signed one and 2 offensive D. so its not the same as last year. not forgetting that we also have the strongest net minder in the league back.

Have to say... don't agree with much of anything he says in that article. As others have pointed out, he misses some glaring facts. Like the fact that every other team has the same import limit, that we've got British D-men other than Danny Meyers (nary a mention of the proven Stevie Lee and the not-yet-proven-but-promising Marcus Maynard). Not a word about what appears to be a serious upgrade in centres... after all, our D-men aren't going to have to stop opposing forwards shooting the puck as much if we win more face-offs and keep possession. And no... we'll be doing it with out Jade Galbraith, Neil... dear oh dear, doesn't ANYONE proof-read anything these days? Disappointing article... less thought, more hysteria... well, I suppose it's one way to get noticed. I expected better out of Mr Chiplen.

The opening line is baloney - "Corey Neilson could have made believers out of us all"
No matter what Corey decides to do, there will never be a point when everyone believes that we can achieve the league title.
Lee sums it up perfectly for me.

What crap that is, and the thing that made me come to that decision was the bit about Galbraith. He could grind it out any day of the week? Really? What Galbraith has he been watching then?
Honestly, I think it'll finally be our year this year. Think we've got the right bunch of lads!

This is what he said about Galbraith "But as good a player as Galbraith is, he hasn't demonstrated that he can be a grinder every night of the week." I do hope your last line is correct though!

I had wondered whether we should have gone for an 11th import, a D-man, at least to cover for Danny whilst he is still out, but I guess a downside would be that we would need to rest an import forward and that could unrest in the dressing room. Hopefully Marc will serve us well in defence in the meantime.

there is no need to panic we have Levers covering and we have more than capable cover from Steve Lee.

What a crap article,
I gave up on taking any notice of him when he tipped Coventry to Win the league this year. This made me laugh as i think Coventry are only going with 2 import d this year.
So we cant win it with 3 import d but Coventry can with 2 and 1 less import aswell.
