Another fighter found dead at home, Rick was only 27 and coming so close on the heals of Boogy Boogaard this is another sad day for hockey.
RIP bug man.

Suicide's a horrible thing, he's suffered with depression for some time.
He had the best name in hockey.

Villedelphia, do you know something I don't? Are you making assumptions at this time? All the reports have stated the cause of death to be unknown and haven't even hinted at suicide. I'm not saying you are wrong, just that I haven't heard suicide mentioned yet.
It's a massive shame that this has happened, it's very very sad. I know I'll be angry though if this turns out to be drug related. Rypien was one of my favourite fighters in the NHL, I loved his boxing background which led to his gaurd style of fighting. 27 is far too young to die.

There's been a few media sources in the area that have reported that he took his own life. He's struggled with depression for years now.
It's not been confirmed, but it's widely believed that he did.

It's been reported Rypien suffered from depression for over 10 years, it allegedly stemming from the death of a girlfriend from a car crash when she was travelling to watch him play in a game whilst in junior hockey.
