hardly the same though is it, they still had NHL players in their team.
and when our best player by far is David Clarke even though he is amazing, he is not even close to NHL standard YET
But who knows if David Clarke put in a decent performance infront of the scouts out there he could get a chance in the future if they keep an eye on him. as he is only going to get better.

Actually it is, but then you don't know what you're talking about. The Belarus Olympic hockey team had ONE NHLer on it's roster, this being Ruslan Salei. The Swedes howver had Niklas Lidstrom, Mats Sundin, Markus Naslund & Tommy Salo to name but a few. I'd also like to draw your attention to Lake Placid in 1980 Tim. Upsets DO happen, whether you agree or not.

I agree that upsets are definitely possible (and boy, am I hoping for some upsets to be delivered by the Panthers!) - but the calibre of players that these teams are recruiting is beyond a joke! Maybe I missed it, but I've not seen on here anyone mention the latest signing by one of the other teams we'll be facing, HC Milano Vipers. Niklas Sundstrom. Yes - THAT Niklas Sundstrom! - 695 games in the freakin' NHL! (stats www.hockeydb.com/ihdb/stats/pdisplay.php3?pid=5253) This is getting beyond a ruddy joke......
