i thought he said 'fricking awesome' is that swearing? I don't know I was shouting various obscenities and dancing around at the time.

Didn't hear it on Sunday, not sure what I was doing at the time, must have been going a bit loopy in the stands. But "fricking" is certainly a possibility.
When interviewed on Radio Nottingham after the CC win in Belfast, he said "fricking" several times. I have never met Jade, but I am guessing that perhaps he is prone to be a potty mouth and has been warned to tone it down when interviewed.

Guys, shut up. If it was any other Ayer this thread would not exist. People slip up and swear or say things they are not supposed to on tv and radio ALL the time, it happens, it's not worth discussing. There is a difference between a slip up and a Pre meditated, shouted swear word, at at a group of people in a derogatory way. No need to tell people to shut up. This is a forum where people come to discuss things. I happen to agree with all your points, but maybe in future you shouldn't tell people to shut up. Have to agree with Pies on all points. TBH, this one does seem overblown... but so are a lot of things that get discussed on this forum (and others)...

I probably shouldn't mention then that BBC Radio Nottingham also had to apologise after interviewing Corey live right after the win, because in the heat of the moment - thanking the fans - he said 'we have the best F-ing fans in the league'. It happens. As they said by way of explaination 'emotions are running high at this time'
It's the difference, i suspect, of intent; between a spur of the moment adjectival slip and a calculated noun used looking for a specific response by using it.
In short it comes down to the difference between using a swear word as an adjective to qualify what's being said versus using it as a noun to label someone.
Mountian? Molehill? personal opinion i suspect.
But, as always, JMHO.

It wasn't Corey actually, though Jade has certainly said "fricking" before.
Personally, I think a slip of the tongue in the heat of the moment is completely understandable, and I don't know why anyone is going on about this.
Plus the turn of phrase wasn't used to insult anyone, rather to express joy in a pretty fantastic and unique moment.

Not referring to that 'incident'. Wasn't there, so can't comment. I refer instead in my post to a seperate post-game BBC Radio Nottingham interview with Corey streamed live online as part of their online commentary and coverage of the final. As the players were celebrating Corey was introduced and interviewed live as part of their online Broadcast. Was in this interview that Corey 'slipped' and used the F* So Jade would hardly have been the only example on the day
