I do agree with your general point about enforcers this year but I am pretty sure this bloke would score good points over here. But for whatever they are paying him, would a player who would put up similar numbers, without the enforcing not be cheaper? his added value of enforcing may not justify the increase in salary that he would arguably demand. I suppose its all down to any sacrifice that Bruce will make if he signs him. If they will be no weaker at the back, and still as potent up front good signing. If they are weaker in either area then poor signing. The standard of most of the imports signed by all teams so far looks pretty high. Reckon he would be a good signing for the Clan and for the league. What cap?

The reason Lepine is liked so much is because he's a decent d-man plus plays physical and looks after his team mates. If anything it's us that have set the tone by bringing Lepine back, other teams may well be looking at us thinking it'd be a good idea to sign somebody who may put off or at least make Lepine accountable if/when he starts nailing their forwards into next week. Boulerice would put up decent numbers in the EIHL and bring a definite level of intimidation to the team. Richardson and Bruce will be much more effective with him on the roster.

As a a clan fan I would be happy with this signing, as last year we came up short physically with other teams.

Judging by this he's got something of an issue with referees. Best of luck to him with Mr Carson. What is the current EIHL record suspension? He get's a 10 game retrospective ban for making intentional contact with a referee, fair do's. What did Lepine get for his legal checks? Can't say I'm a fan of our Euro refs...

I really would not say so. I would expect him to be around a point per game in the EIHL. Most players with talent would/will be able to put up numbers in this league with little effort, but that isn't the point I was making.

Going by hockeydb, there's only one Boulerice who's played in the last two decades, so presumably it must be.

Oh I accept he will allow all their players to play there natural game and will hold Lepine and other big checkers out there responsible for their actions. I think it boils down to 2 types of player, a goodish player who can fight or a fighter who can play. SOME players make the line very close, others have left the playing bit at the door. The big marker for me, is do I wish we had signed him (While there are gaps on our roster) the answer is no.

So that's what Simms was talking about! Dunno! Just a rumour I heard. I would have thought they would have enough diminutive import Centers without Gascon. Decent player though.

Simms seems to know where Gascon is going according to his Twitter but he's trying to dangle the carrot instead of just telling everyone!
Was he any good?

Gascon was ok. Not very physical, but turned in some good performances for us.
I thought he left the UK as it was too rough for him.

So much to him wanting another shot at the AHL/NHL.. Money talks I guess. I always laugh now when I see his name after he cost Cardiff any chance of a comeback in the Playoff final...
