He was gone by Christmas, bit of a scapegoat perhaps for our usual standard of defending. He was no Kowalski though. 08/09 Stats

I think Davis Parley is getting a bit of unfair treatment here... no, he wasn't uber-great, but I don't think he was as bad as some are making out. He was stuck behind a defence who seemed to want to make a stand at the blueline - the opposition's blueline! Remember K-Wall was looked on by many with no small amount of disfavour early on last season... then they shored up the defence and suddenly he got a lot better.

Tex what are the other belfast players wages then as you seem to know there budget. Last season there was a article saying hoffman was on £400 a week which i believe is quite low for a player of his quality.

And you believe that article? IF hoffman was only on 400 quid a week then galbraith was playing for beer, hold on that might not be a fair comparison .. OK its pretty simple the better players get the better wages, yes? And as far as quality is concerned ex NHL players trump AHL players who are better than ECHL league players who are generally better than CHL players etc etc ok? Well it seems to me most of the players signed for belfast so far are of the AHL variety which makes them a higher price than teams composed of lower league players ok? I know squat about ANY teams wages but i know an expensive squad when i see one just like anyone with a brain can work it out...

Tex... don't you know the rules? Only the Panthers EVER overspend... if you believe the bull that other teams' fans (and occasionally club PRs) come out with, anyway:- - the Giants have lots of university deals and pay them peanuts in comparison... plus they play in Ireland, which is (according to the Irish) payment enough. - Coventry can't afford to overpay, they're only a small team... it's the utter genius, charisma and overwhelming 'god'-ness of Paul Thompson that entices good players there - Sheffield never, ever overspend. Well, not until several years after the fact, but that's all right because by then it's all in the past, we need to move on, stop obsessing about ancient history and by the way you dirty Panthers haven't won since 1956... - everyone - and I mean absolutely EVERYONE - in Newcastle only ever played for the love of the club. And it's everyone else's fault anyway. - etc etc

The only non brit players the Giants have actually signed are Mason ex DEL 2/ECHl Dignard ex CHL/ college Pelle ex CHL Kuiper ex AHL/ Austria So the only player with any real AHL experience is Kuiper so you may want to re-think your post. Shaggy ireland /Irish wouldnt open that can of worms mate

Pelle known quantity now in UK so has a value in excess of his past ie EXPENSIVE DEL 2 equivalent to ECHL/AHL expensive Kuiper AHL expensive, Only cheap player there is Dignard and last year he was called up to the AHL... (get ya facts right eh) PLus on top of that a good first season from peacock should have warranted a payrise (only peacock would know that) and to steel dowd (see what i did there ) would not have been a cheap option either... all in all alot of money has been spent so far imho....

DEL 2 is nowhere near AHL, Dignard 3 AHL games last year wow, your OP didnt mention brits (peacock was in his second season get ya facts right eh I have no idea how much they cost but to say we have an expensive looking squad with only 4 imports signed is a bit much. I hope trhat by the time we have completed our signings we have an expensive looking squad, gives everyone else something to moan about
