Just put all the teams names in a hat and randomly select one. I have no idea how I chose the Stars - I think it was just something from when I was younger

Well, it depends what you want from a team.
If you like physical and entertaining hockey, follow Philadelphia or Boston. If you like stylish European hockey, follow Detroit or Vancouver. If you want proud history, follow Chicago, Montreal, the Rangers or Calgary. If you like to be disappointed, follow Toronto. If you never want to see any of your team's games, follow Phoenix or Atlanta.
I'd recommend you follow an Eastern team though. Their games face off at midnight here if not earlier, western games can face-off as late as 3:30am.

If you're a crybaby, then follow the Flyers as their fans are always whining.

Join the underachievers club, you're already well versed for it following Panthers, Leafs are the logical choice :-)

Unlike the Flyers ;D

Oh believe me I imagine it every single day. The euphoria that would explode in downtown Toronto would be worth every bit of disappointment to date. I live in hope.

If you're a crybaby, then follow the Flyers as their fans are always whining. Not really got much to whine about in the past year or so Don't always have to take Leafs digs so personally mate, it's only a larf. Deep down i actually respect the Leafs fans, to sit through what they have and still turn up in their numbers. It's remarkable, the parallels between Panthers and the Leafs are a bit offputting!

I support Boston as thats the only American city i've been to, and managed to get to a game while over there which was just incredible. Honestly thought I was dreaming when they first announced the game in Belfast lol.

It's remarkable, the parallels between Panthers and the Leafs are a bit offputting! And the fact I ended up following both is what is known as ultimate bad luck! Wouldn't change it though, not a chance.

But injuries can strike any team at anytime and there is a fair bit of season left to play.
The Flyers and 'Nucks seasons aren't over yet, not by a long shot.

Nope, still got plenty of lovely jubbly wins to enjoy. I'm not even really concerned about injuries, we're so deep that only a major crisis would see us slump. We lost our best player for a month and barely slowed down.
Not often i'm this optimistic about the Flyers.

Trawled the internet watching vids and reading blogs and decided to follow the caps. Two reasons really: one they just stuck out to me and i don't know why and two, they were the first team I ever watched play ice hockey. It was an old video I found at my nan's house and I put it on and it was caps v someone and Mike Grier had a blinder, so caps for me!!

Good man! Unlike the others I didn't even have to make a case for the Caps, though today wasn't the best day to start supporting them with them losing 4-1 to LA and they start a pretty mega road trip now as well so will be a tough week or two...

When I visited the states as a young teenager, I bought a cap and picked the logo I liked best. At the time it was the San Jose sharks and they were new to the NHL in an expansion year. They were doing terrible in the early years but bow I think they have a good shot at winning the playoffs each year and just maybe this year maybe our chance.

Someone in San Jose needs to learn the Heimlich Maneuver. You'd think at least the team doctor would know.

I chose the Montreal Canadiens after reading Ken Dryden's brilliant book The Game. I've also got an interest in New York Islanders because I keep getting drafted by them on NHL 10 and then 11.
In short, no real connections for either choice.

I picked the pens, the little penguins on their jerseys are just too cute!
