It's pretty clear now that Corey will be gone at the end of the season.
But what should we do until April? Basically, what gives us the best chance of winning the CC and play offs?
If we get rid of Corey now we'll also lose our only attacking dman, and have to play the majority of rest of the season 2 imports short (if rumours of Tcakzuk being out for 4-6 weeks are accurate). We'll also lose Corey's pretty much guaranteed point a game. Although if we had another dman double shifting, we might not give as many goals away.
Very tricky decision for Black to make. Probably why he should have been more decisive before the transfer deadline.
FWIW I would keep Corey until the end of the season, put the players on a massive win bonus to motivate them, get rid of Strachan immediately (his signing has coincided with our loss of form) and put Adam Goodridge back behind the bench (as a short term measure only).
And just as another point - could Van Hoof go down as our worst ever signing? 3 games, 6 goals against in every single game he's played. Crazy.

The team's finished I'd get rid of Neilson now, along with Strachen and Moran. Any of the players want out I'd let them go too, at least we'd know where we stand, fill out the team with Brits and just finish the season.
As it stands this shower won't win jack anyway.

put the players on a massive win bonus to motivate them, i hope your joking! a bonus... i'd stop paying them altogether, show them what playing for an organisation like the vipers or capitals is like (both who have beaten our so called superstars), and show them how lucky they are to play with a panthers shirt on, if they win that week they'd get their wages.

Sorry Lee - that's what I meant. Basically don't pay them anything unless they win. The coaching staff obviously can't motivate them - maybe money can.

If it was my choice, Neilson would be sacked before the bus gets back to Nottingham and would never be seen again. Strachan would be made coach til the summer when both he and Moran, the constant who has presided over year upon year of failure, would be let go. Then start again.
Any player who wishes to leave, and I doubt there'd be many, would be allowed to, bring in some Brit kids to fill out any gaps.

Reading that neilson didn't acknowledge the fans I have a feeling he knows this is the end of the line
He always applauds the fans however bad
I have no doubt this was his last match as coach and almost certainly player as well

It is blatantly obvious that Neilson "lost the locker room" some considerable time ago, around the 21st of December at a guess.
The team we have now is going to win nothing with Neilson as coach, therefore we should take the chance to give Strachan the remainder of the season to try and pull the rest of the team together. They have the talent, but they are not playing either as a "team" or for Neilson at the moment.
Until Neilson is gone, nothing will change.

For me, what to do for the rest of the season is easy:
As I have a ticket for Tuesday I will be there.
After that, I will only go to two more games. The Challenge Cup home leg, and the Playoff home leg.
You can also add 3 more people, who all pay each week to that list.

Our form before he arrived wasn't much better, so in effect his arrival has changed nothing.

Add a further 8 of us to that, I can live with a team giving 100% and losing, I can't live with the type of performance I saw on Sky TV on Friday, especially against THEM!!
I doubt we'll be going to the CC Cup home game, what's the point, if the team can't be bothered, why should we.
On a positive note, it's saved me £200 for a family ticket for the Finals.

Thought this thread was about what WE (as fans) could do till April....either watch paint dry go and see Sheffield play is not far off the mark and I'd never thought that would be on the cards. A team up the M1, dying at the start of the season, bleeding money and falling apart, you could not make this one up.Now top of the league. Save money and go with just the Brits, we'd still manage to finish 6th at worst.

We should all become Cardiff Devil fans! Anything to stop them up the road winning a trophy!
