I have also heard this rumour but that he's in negotiations still. But I also heard it will strictly be a 1 year deal so he can go back to N.A next year

I can see him coming,on some sort of years loan deal to give him some head coach experience.
Plus he is GM's most favourite ex player.

I know two guys who could put pay to this rumour. they were in the states 3 weeks ago, and where personal guests of the Paek family and the only coaching he wants to do over here is with the kids during the off season.
there is no way he will leave the AHL/NHL system to come here to coach.
he has advised the panthers that when looking for players, to contact him and he will offer whatever advice he can on players but they have never taken up the offer.

Which if its true is a bit daft. Paek is part of the Red Wings/Grand Rapids staff and the Red Wings are acknowledged as having one of the finest scouting organisations in hockey. As I said when Paek was previously touted as being Nottingham-bound, why would he leave that organisation?

The setup he has at grand rapids is unreal.
why would he swap the plush office, leather chairs and meetings with people like chris chelios for a meeting with GM in a tiny office in rain soaked nottingham?

From the official site:
"The double-winning success has put a smile on a lot of faces but a club spokeswoman told the website today : "I know Gary was particularly pleased with the call from Jimmy. His season at Grand Rapids is about to end and then he'll be moving up to help the coaching staff in another tilt for a Stanley Cup title in the NHL. He's a top notch person and when he calls to say 'well done' it is bound to be particularly moving."
Looks like that puts paid to this rumour.

Actually he (and a few other GR staff) have regularly moved across to help with the Red Wings back staff during post-season runs. Its the reason that Jimmy Paek managed to get his name on the Stanley Cup for a third time. So this statement is nothing new really, just what they do every season. I still don't believe we'll ever see him managing Nottingham though. As I've already said, why give up being at the top of the tree within hockey to jump ship to a comparitively small, slightly wilted shrub?
