So we're 2 months into the season and we had a poll at the start of the season as to which new player we were most looking forward to seeing in a Panthers shirt now I am intrested to see what peoples opinions are now.
I've kept it to new players to the team rather than the whole squad
At the start I voted for Billy Ryan and I have to say he has impressed me alot. But Lepine for me has been a great bit of business. Hard hitting, drops the gloves and plays good solid hockey. Cant ask for much more.

Jon Zion gets my vote, although Lepine comes a close second.

Lepine.
We knew what Zions capabilities were with Sheffield last season.

Lepine has proven a good acquisition. Perhaps you could spell his name correctly though!

Lepine. Came in as a replacement for Corey's 'first choice' after being originally penned into Hull's roster. For me he's been superb. Calm and collected with a mean streak and boy can he fight.

Lepine just ahead of Bellamy. Both are 100% effective at what they do and a joy to watch for different reasons!

Belamy was also a close 2nd, theres something about him that every time he whips up the ice i feel something could happen, he just injects so much energy into plays hes a joy to watch , very skillful too

Lepine for me, kowalski is picking up his form now and ive alot of faith in him, he looks alot more comfortable with his defense now..
angel has gone abit quiet since his debut?

Angel does what needs to be done in an unnoticable manner which is a great trait to have, does all the simple things well, very impressive.
Got to be Ryan and Lepine for me. 2 very different players so too hard to single one out as the best. Though if Bellamy continues how he's started and starts to grab a few more goals, it'll be hard to not see him as player of the year come April.

I guess he plays alot like toneys, he does his job, doesnt need to stand out to do it.

I guess he plays alot like toneys, he does his job, doesnt need to stand out to do it. Toneys had 10 points from 54 games in his 1st season with us. Nikolov has 9 points from 7 games so I guess he gets involved in attacking play a lot more and moves the puck out of defence better.

Theirs alot of praise for Lepine on here and winning the voting by 48%, is this because a lot of fans didn't expect too much from Lepine and considering he was brought in as a late replacement and he had originally signed for a bottom tier EIHL side and is exceeding expectations?
Personally I really enjoyed watching Dustin Sproat, great work ethic on the ice I'll be sad not to see him ice for the Panthers in the foreseeable future. However Billy Ryan has impressed considering he has OAP hips. And a special mention to Robert Lachowicz who seems to be improving each and every game, looks to be a decent depth player who would easily be a core player in none to distant future.

For me it's not really to do with expectations just the pure enjoyment I get from watching him play. As I've said on other threads I think this belief that we Panthers fans are not entertained by anything other than pucks firing in on the net and gung ho attacking play is totally false. I get a lot of enjoyment watching a guy like Gui play the game the way I believe it should be played. He is my choice when asked to pick one to praise however I would also say that Nikolov has looked excellent as has Bellamy and, now the usual early season storm has settled, K-Wall is playing very well.

I went for Lepine with Nikolov (very!) closely behind.

He got my vote for re-juvinating my belief in real men playing the game, and D men who actually break up plays and scare people whilst still being able to fit into the "modern game".
