Looks to be a bit of a wait and see signing... Stats look poor in the AHL and he was 622nd place in the league scoring charts last season..
Few clips..

he was 622nd place in the league scoring charts last season.. If he is here to score points we've signed the wrong player!

Corey on Panthers website: "Slovakian Robert Liscak came in on a trial basis and we’d like to thank him for his efforts but he is leaving the GMB Panthers and Rob is coming in." linkGuess that answers the temporary question. As for why he's coming in: “We need someone to do the Jay Henderson role, and when Jay’s injury took him out of our plans for the time-being, it left a hole that needed filling.... He comes highly recommended for the job we need doing by his last coach, he fore-checks and skates well. He hits like a tank, He very much isn’t a ‘Corey Neilson’ kind of forward but he is the piece we need for our jigsaw and he’s just what the doctor ordered.” Also states is unlikely to be here for Steelers Game.

Ridiculous to let Liscak go before the other guy arrives

I hope he doesnt suffer the curse of Steve Simoes. Fall foul of the refs for good checks, and then not being able to play his natural game. Another young guy as well. Some of Simoes checks were so late they were early for the next one! I'd rather have signed another D man but there we go...

I would also liked to have signed another D man.

We don't need another big goal scorer we have players in the team that can do that already (and some defencemen who think that's their job but that's a whole new thread).
What we need is a big hitting player who knocks opposing forwards into next week and puts them off their game as they are continually watching out for the next big hit. Something which will help with the overall teams defence. That looks like who we've signed this time.

We dont need anymore goals, we've shown we can score, we need someone who can up the tempo and get the momentum going, hopefully this will be our guy.

Ridiculous to let Liscak go before the other guy arrives Why? the guy has done bugger all since he got here, he was on a trial basis and didnt impress so do you actualy think he was going to do much this weekend knowing he would be on a plane home on monday morning. Playing him could be more trouble than its worth.

Unfortunately, +\- isn't affected by goals from PP's or PK's.

Have seen the stats, so what. Those stats alone tell you nothing. You could read them on there own and form the opinion he is a poor player as he averages -20 over the last 2 seasons. However it's doesn't say anything else, what line was he on, what was his team like compared to the others in the AHL, was he on the penalty killing team alot? However it also shows he had played regularly in the AHL in the last two seasons and is still a young player.
That's the problem with just looking at one set of statistics. It appears to tell you a lot but in reality it tells you nothing.

Why all this "we should've signed another D-man" crap?
Exactly who is this D-man to replace? Corey? No. Zion? Hell no. Stevie Lee? No way. Danny Meyers, captain. No. Lepine? No.
What we lack is defensive forwards, 2-way players in other words, and this guy looks a good fit. Loving the fact it seems like he likes to play hard. With Penner and Lepine backing him up too should be interesting! Getting Levers back will help out too.

Unless the Panthers have had this signing in the pipeline since shortly after Henderson had to return home, there's absolutely no chance of Bellamy icing at the weekend, as he has to go through the whole bureaucratic rigmarole of applying for a working visa, and attending an interview as part of that process.
Liscak was a good short-term fix, as being a Euro, he could fly straight in and play. Unfortunately, it didn't work out, but that's hockey for you!
If Bellamy is a younger version of Henderson, or even Big Kev, I'll be a happy man! We badly miss the passion / energy and grit that Bruce brought to our team over the last 2 seasons, so let's hope Rob can rattle a few D-men's cages!

Wouldnt have told him til Monday And he is better than no import at all especially when we have other injuries on top of this Biggest match of the season so far and we are already guaranteed one improt down if not two with Zion doubtful If we knew Bellamy had no chance of getting here then just delay his announcement and give Lisak the bad news on Monday Makes no sense to me unless Bellamy is going to be her on time and unless Zion is going to be fit

Weve got: Neilson (offensive) Zion (offensive and injured) Lepine (nothing to add here, does what he should) And thats it for import D men. Add to that Meyers who tbh has been erratic the past couple of years and a young upcoming D man in Stevie Lee, and an uncertain goalie in Kowalski and its hardly the water tight defence to build a championship winning team on. That said, Im happier with Bellamy every time I think of him.

Is it because Rob has connections witrh your beloved Flyers seriously this guy hopefully has the edge and will add something to the team and be excellent both ends of the ice, another young one who will want to prove himself too Welcome to Nottingham Rob

No ones thought that Panthers may just be saying "its unlikely he'll be here by the weekend" as pure mind games. I wouldnt put it past GM to have actually signed him a couple of weeks ago, processed any paperwork and have had him over here this week ready for the weekend. But I am sure I am wrong but never say never!

I know this may be jumping to conclusions but....
Today i seen Adam Goodridge (sp) coming out of the Panthers office and walking down to the arena with a brand new Panthers top (white) just one and walking down to the ice stadium. Now this could mean a number of things but it could mean the new player is here now. Just a thought.

I can't work Bellamy out. His stats are so poor I just can't get too excited. Even as a hard working forward he should have picked up far more points than he has - a stay at home d man would expect a better points return. But on the flipside he kept on getting AHL contracts so must have something about him.
Definitely not in Henderson's class by the looks of it so perhaps another temporary signing.
