i no im chomping at the bite here but yes we have won 4 games out of 4 but is k-wall really good enough hes never looked solid in a game yet let some awful goals in looks slow for a small goalie dosn't get around the net quick (i.e the goal he let in against coventry) i just think sooner or later its going to bite us on the bum for the poor netminding.

i agree with all of that just the same as usual we normally get a poor nm for eg: davis parley, evan lindsay. i follow the echl alot and a goalie i'd love to see at the panthers is dov grumet-morris he has never had a higher gaa than 3.00.

I'm sure we said this about Kevin St. Pierre last season. Well his back stopped 'us' the Panthers to four wins on the bounce.

K-Wall has done OK so far. We don't get many amazing Netty's due to our disregard for defence.

Most goals were because of our defence yes he has let 2 or 3 bad ones in but its the start of a season

He has good rebond control, and makes some tricky catches look very easy. However he is slow post to post and he has let some basic ones in. if he cuts out the silly ones then i think he will be rock solid.

i just think every game i go to we have to score more than 5 goals to win because i have no confidence in k-wall letting any less than 4 goals in a game in my opinion he wont last half the season.

Always the same comments at this early stage of the season, particularly as teams are still trying to gel together.
For goodness sake, we've won 4 from 4; are top of the Elite League and still have 2 players missing from the squad. What more do you want??
Everything is relative - go look at the respective Save % of K-Wall (89.9%) against those of Jaeger (88.1%); Lyle (85.8%) and Kaufmann (80.3%). OK, he's not up with Mustokovs (95.2%) yet, but Steelers haven't played any of the top teams yet. Murphy (91.5%) has faced 20 less shots than K-Wall and has a 5 Import Defefence in front of him!

Conceeding goals is not always the fault of the goaltender. On Saturday our defence men were all over the place. Panthers will definitely have to tighten up but let's not start a witch hunt just yet.

Most goals were because of our defence yes he has let 2 or 3 bad ones in but its the start of a season I'd agree with that. Yes a few have been silly but the vast majority of goals have either come from superb play by the opposition (lets not forget to give them credit where its due) or because the offensively-minded defence that Corey has put together has left Kowalski for dead. I think its something that Panthers fans are going to have to accept with the team he has put together, the D is very offensive. We will ship goals, but it seems the plan is 'score one more than you'. Now I don't particularly mind this, I've seen my beloved Red Wings win a SC on the back of such a plan, the problem is when you hit the teams who play trap hockey and you can't get the goals.

It's a self full filling prophecy, we score 5 because we concede 3, we concede 3 because we score 5. as long as that balance is continued I'm happy. The acid test will still be the ultra defense of the Steelers.

I cant believe we are questioning Penner and now Kowalski's right to be in this team fater 4 games - and 4 games we have won may I add. At the end of the day this game is about scoring more than the opponents. We are doing that currently. We were never gonna have a team that kept other teams goals at a low amount - its not the Corey way!
And untill the results start going the other way, I am happy to stick with the current squad and my faith in them. As pointed out weve played 3 teams who are going to be up there with us come the end of the year and come through with maximum points and Kowalskis save % isnt that bad.

The acid test will still be the ultra defense of the Steelers. Will Steelers trap it out again all season? I don't think they will as I don't think they can afford to, what with their attendances sitting in the high 2k/low 3k region. It seems many Steelers fans finally came to the conclusion that trap hockey may win games but its boring and they want to be entertained, hence the dire attendances.

Steelers fans would take a 1-0 boring ass win right now Trap hockey can't be effectively turned on and turned off, its a system a team needs to learn and play consistently, as shown by NJ Devils in '95. If Steelers played trap hockey this season I doubt they'd have the funds by Christmas to finish the season.

There's plenty for Cory Neilson to work on with the Panthers but it's a little early to start pointing fingers at individuals.
The season is 2 weekend's old and we've won 4 out of 4. I thought we were poor on Saturday but still we won, hopefully things will get better and team defence will improve.

It's playing fully committed fast entertaining hockey. I suggest you see them play before making these comments. Trap hockey is not Ben Simon's way.

Ok i do not know what trap hockey is, so im a little lost.
On the note of Kowalski, i think he is doing ok for the moment. We have won all the games so far (touchs wood) and hope it continues too. Like some of you have said, yes he has let one or 2 in that looked like he should have saved them, surely everyone would think that anyway with him being on our team. How was people with Kevin St.Pierre when he came to Nottingham?
I do think our defense need to do their job more, i have already seen many occassions where Corey or Danny should have been there and took control but didnt. I always fear that when we play the likes Sheffield or Coventry that we will be given the run around.

I think Kowalski looks pretty good an will hopefully improve as the team all get to know each other more.
The return of Levers and Henderson should also help the defensive coverage.
Talk of gassing Kowalski is incredibly premature IMO.
