To say we are supposed to be a professionally run club, the match night presentation just continues to be poor. Nothing against the the announcers and dj because they are instructed what to say and play but the music was uninspiring and the announcing was just ridiculously amateurish. I'm afraid Mr Penner has been lined up for a fall next week. Who in their right mind would announce on several occasions the Penner v Hoffman fight. They showed a lack of respect to the opposition, who wants 10?. The whole thing bordered embarrassment.

Agree.
seriously hope that the intro and music for the new season was not rolled out last night,.. it was rubbish. A step backwards. Billing fights is also, IMO, cheesy to say the least. Constantly pushing Penner v Hoffman was cringeworthy, stating that it should be an interesting opening face off.
Please,.......
I am all for the increased toughness and profile fighters this year round but I detest the opening face off staged fights. Let them fight at the right time for the right reasons,.. the way it should be.
Penner v Hoffman was not the only match up trailed over the mic,..
Clarke v Peacock ? Give it a rest.

Lousy presentation did nothing to add to the event.
The kind of announcing we heard last night would be more suited to the ridiculous WWE organization.

Of course the organisation is going to push the enforcer and potential fights, if there was any first timers in the building last night and heard there is a nailed on fight going to happen next week I Bet they would come back! Its no different to them saying "next week sees the return of big bad brad voth" if it gets a bigger crowd then I'm happy to hear it. Plus why sign an "entertainer / enforcer" and not market him?
I agree the intro when players come on the ice is shocking though!

I HOPE to god that's what it is either way.

Never really liked the music or the announcing at your place. Always seems like the announcements aren't coming over as clear to some blocks as others, music is just "meh", dull and nothing to write home about.
Remarks from Announcers? We've all seen what happens when things go overboard and announcers should try to avoid goading the opposition fans, mentioning press releases from the opposition, reference to the generalised affluence of the area visiting fans are coming from, etc etc.

I think you will find that most of those were just match ups, thats why Clarke Vs Peacock got the mention, not because they are going to fight but because they are both british and good players and just because it is a opening face off fight does not mean it is not meaningful especially in the opening game of the season against arguebly our main contenders for the title

.......and just because it is a opening face off fight does not mean it is not meaningful especially in the opening game of the season against arguebly our main contenders for the title Opening face-off fights are a joke. I love to see a scrap on the ice but I want it to be mid-game and for a reason. Opposition playing a little too well? Throw the enforcer out to make a few hits, goad the opposition into fighting to break up the play. Opposition keep running your NM? Send out the big guy to nail some of their forwards to the boards. Face-off fights are panto, not hockey.

The whole thing needs looking at and revamped, to anyone who's been going more than a couple of seasons it's dated.
We must get a video replay screen, surly a system the same as they have at Belfast can be Incorporated into the stage end.
Also, can we ditch the Chelsea dagger please, or at least mix it up a bit.
Oh and free the mallard that has been employed to Quack when we score.

It currently spoils a game of hockey as we've heard the same things for season upon season. I don't have any answers for them but I do think it needs changing. Sort the CD playlist out for starters.

The problem is the club is a closed shop. There are many people who can and would help out with many elements of the operation but they (the club) aren't interested. GM is superb at some things and not so good at others, sadly one of the things which falls in under the latter is letting go and letting others do a better job than he can in some areas.

i just wish that the other guy who sits near stef would lose his voice and we just get stef it would be bliss, he makes me cringe whem he starts the fans make the noise and we dont need to be told when to make noise. if he wants a job where he has to tell fans when to shout there is a job going up at sheffield .

The "we want 10" thing was a daft thing to say, especially when we then lost the remainder of the game after that 2-5!

They have had all summer to do something about the music and presentation and didn't. Pure laziness on the part of the club, I noticed one piece of new music last night and it was that irritating 'Americano'. Do other clubs churn out the same match night music cd season after season? The MC (Ken?) repeated the same phrases all night, and most of it was inane. The adage of 'Same poo poo, different season' comes to mind.

Just seemed more of the same to me, give or take a few, someone write Ken some new lines. Also, as Outlaw said earlier, the songs that did actually seem to be new were, for my tastes, a further downgrade. They showed a lack of respect to the opposition, who wants 10?. The whole thing bordered embarrassment. Agree, seemed rude and arrogant (not to mention an inevitable kiss of death), especially given it was a friendly. He'd never have said that during a league game. Did anyone expect it to have changed though?

Lots of things need to change with the match night presentations. Given the excellent manner in which the NIC have posted on here and taken feedback about the ticketing system, could someone from the Panthers not have a bit of a lurk (as I'm sure they do anyway) and actually consider some of the points made in this thread?
The 10 goals jibe was stupid. Plain and simple. Everyone may have been thinking it but if anything all it did was fire up their players. Massive disrespect to the Trappers and their Coach.
Bigging up the fights. Ok there is the bums on seats arguements but seriously, that was way overboard. Penner didn't need publicising over the tannoy, he was doing a great job on the ice and you couldn't not notice him.
Change the record. Literally. Take the grammerphone and the records and charity shop them. The music needs to change. Ok, some people like familiarity and that's fine to a point but at least rotate the music.
Work on the goal horn. Mixture of Chelsea Dagger and the "Malo is a big ****** ****" song sounded horrendous. Goal horns can be very simple or very complex. We have neither. We have two cuts of music forced together. We could incorporate a nice graphic on our commodore 64 hanging from the rafters too, perhaps with a player card so new fans aren't left out when it's announced that number five 'David' has scored.
Don't bring back the quiz. No-one cares.

martinski83....that is a good idea about the new fans being helped to understand etc...I do hope the club will take that on board, even if gleaned from you.
I noted the points made by everyone here. In particular, did we have to wave the Trappers off HOME when they still had another game to play in the UK?

Yes, the "we want ten thing" is a dangerous thing to do.
Three or four years ago in an away game at Basingstoke, Panthers had scored 9 and the Panthers fans started singing "we want ten". I spoke to a couple of Panthers players shortly after that game and they wern't happy with our fans. They reckoned that sort of thing can cause serious incidents on the ice.
