Good evening Panther fans.
Just a few notes about Sunday's game at Ice Sheffield.
Face off is 19:30hrs
However doors will not open until 19:15hrs. This is due to the rink being used for a Sheffield Spartans game prior to ours. No one will be allowed into the rink until it has been cleared at the end of that game.
Seats will again be unreserved and I again ask that Panthers fans use the announcers side of the rink.
Thank you again in anticipation of your co operation in trying to make the event as enjoyable as possible for everybody.

Unfortunately this is totally beyond our control. There is a game which is not due to finish until around 1900 . Ony alternative would be to have a face off much later. Fan feedback did not want this. We managed to get a sell out crowd into the arena in 15 mins last week.

And your point is ?
The event is completely HSE compliant as confirmed by Ice Sheffield management.
Got my work head on......... what has it to do with the police ?

Weather forecast supplied by BBC dry evening, normal temperatures for the time of year minimum temperature saturday night through sunday 2 degrees celsius. Manchester Phoenix having their rink built. See website for pictures. Co operation between Ice Sheffield and Phoenix. Approx 100 mtrs of corridor and overhead shelter for waiting fans at the arena.
Nowt unusual for press to make sure the facts do not get in the way of a story is it.
Mods can you lock the thread please. Initial posting was meant to pass on information to those wishing to attend the game
tks

Tambo, I don't see what the problem would be.
People frequently had to wait outside at London due to public sessions prior to games, and there was no shelter there at all.
Thanks for the info.
Most people on here actually appreciate it.

Apologies for you being railroaded by someone who is obviously cranially challenged!

Thanks for the info Tambo…
Was wondering what to do after the last time we went there and nearly got trampled on… Also did not like having the net all round the rink at Ice Sheffield ..it does spoil the enjoyment and view of the game.
At £14 for an unreserved seat ticket it is a bit steep.. it is more than the Hallam Arena for a Steelers game and you get allocated a seat at that......especially when it is only £7 for the same seat for the Scimiters. £10 would have been more reasonable considering the view we get..... I know you have bigger overheads but even so!!!!
Also reading on Steel Talk .. what the problems where last week with the Steelers game and the lengths of the queues..
Understand that is probably why you have decided on this action. but not everyone reads the Cage and people will still get there early. and queues will form ..
Also like to get there early to watch the Warm Up ..and also get parked….
Good points about Ice Sheffield.. A nice building. The staff were very good, the catering was good.. nice clean building..
Considering all these things have made my mind up….. will give it a miss…
Will have to wait for our next game in your own rink...

If you get there early enough (before 1800) they will usualy let you into the bar. However be warned that after this time it is extremely unlikely you will get in the building before 1915.
Last week they were even turning rec players with kit bags and sticks trying to play on the other pad away!
Blazers will be on the other pad during your game, with yours truely in net, if you fancy a giggle during the breaks.

I work for the press not the police Never mind who you work for - put your spoon away. Staging hockey matches in this country is hard enough as it is without gratuitous sniping. The Phoenix and Ice Sheffield are doing their best to overcome difficult circumstances. The result may not be ideal but it is workable and most right minded hockey fans will understand the problems and accept the solutions, especially when given advanced warning. Thanks for the information Tambo - much appreciated. Apologies for the less than constructive response from some quarters.

Thanks Tambo, that info is very much appreciated.
I was considering making that my first away match but it sounds a little bit inpractical with a 9 month old (and a bit expensive with petrol on top).
