Anybody just see Central News? A 91 year old man who's been going since the first ever game 60 years ago! He got a tour "behind the scenes" and went to the changing room. And we thought we were dedicated!

I think it would be a very fitting jesture if we all sang NICE ONE CYRIL, NICE ONE SON..............at the anniversary game next week, I think he sits in block 13 or round about there, he truely deserves to be honoured in someway by the fans for that is some achievement!!!!! he should be given a medal bless him, for all the ups and downs that he has seen in his days as a Panther Fan....Well done Cyril!!!!! A massive Big Ups to him

I wonder how many people there are that still watch the Panthers who were at the very first game? My great grandma was at the first game and watched until about 3 weeks before she died in 2003 - my grandma first went to a game a few months in to our first season. Good little report on the BBC too, including a clip of the old barn while he was talking about the atmosphere. Nice one Cyril, I hope I'm still watching the Panthers when I'm 91.

I wonder how many people there are that still watch the Panthers who were at the very first game? My Dad for a start. He's 82 and saw his first game as a 22yo. He hasn't been for a week or two because he's not been well, but touch wood we shall be there this Saturday. My Mam went with my Dad until a few weeks before she passed away in Oct 98. In fact they introduced me to hockey by giving me a couple of tickets in the spring of 82, while they were away in Spain.

My dad is in his 80`s and mum in her 70`s they been going since hockey started at Nottingham,
and they still go every week.
Hubby`s dad used to be stick boy for the panthers and played for the 2nd team the Wolves.
Must be a family thing,my parents and Hubby`s parents used to be friends, then the years past when there wasn`t any hockey and they lost touch, only to meet up again when we got together.

My mum and dad where very big Panther supporters way way back, I was only little when I first went, think if your parents are into Ice Hockey and take you early on, thats when the ice hockey bug grabs you with both gloves. Also I can remember my mum used to make the shirts for the players....she used to cut them out on the living room floor and my god I thought they where the biggest shirts I'd ever seen, they seemed really huge....great big giant Ts. No imported shirts then hey

Mum still goes after dad past away...with sis and her hubby (they lost their two kids too)....Mum started in the second era season 1981-82.
Saw the TV clip and when they blow open a pic of a player as they are speaking of Chick Zamick....I believe its a pic of my old mate Bill Ringer who played.

Aaaw, bless him He seems so happy. What a surprise that GM managed to worm his way onto it in a blatant PR moment. Cyril for GM!

The amazing thing to me is how you can live to be 91 years old while being a Panthers fan. I regularly need a stiff drink urgently after a particularly horrific period of Panther hockey and even 6 1/2 years after I gave up, I still could do with a cigarette to reduce my stress levels after some performances. On that basis alone, following our team must be a pretty unhealthy activity, so my hat goes off to him, for his longevity as much as anything else.

Long time no see Cyril
Me and the ex used to pick him up in Beeston and take him to the games.
He told some great tales over a beer or 3 in the Cricks, and was a stern critic.
Speaking of long serving fans, i often talk to a guy at Old Trafford who hasnt missed a home game (apart from the war years) since the 20's, he also has some great stories and enjoys 4 pints of the black stuff in Sam Platts before each game, he is 103

would love to meet up with cyril to share memories. The guys used to come back to come back to our house after the games, to have stew and beer, in the old days. It was great fun and friend ships grew very quickly. The guys were great and we had loads of laughs we were just one big happy group.
