Heard a rumour that he's close to resigning for the Panthers, anyone else heard this or any other rumours about where he might be playing next season?

Well I've heard that he hasn't even been offered a contract.

I hope he hasnt, afew seasons of hard grafting yes, but his slow skating and lumpering around the ice has made me grow to dislike him on the team now.

Time for him to move on.
He's the wrong side of 30 anyway for our team.

Too young at 28, although he does skate like an old man.
I dont have any issue with the older players as long as they keep themselves fit enough. Tony Hand and Steve Moria are prime examples of this.
Jinman and Gallant - Yes please Bergin - No thanks

Again, for me, this comes down to getting the right players rather than the best players.
Is Kevin Bergin good enough to be on the team still? - yes, IMHO. Is he one of the right choices for the team? - no idea, that depends on the type of team that is being built and what pieces are needed.
No offence meant to Bergy, but I've always seen him as a (major) supporting player rather than one of the 'star' players that you build a team around. That's not belittling him... just like assists to goals, you need such supporting players almost as much as the stars.
So whether we need his particular style and skill-set depends on the rest of the team that Corey wants. If, for example, Corey brings in a 'true' enforcer... Bergy's willingness to drop the gloves if needed will likely be less valuable. If we have a stronger D than last season, then maybe his versatility in playing defence sometimes won't be needed as much.
So I don't think it's simply down to whether he's seen as good enough or not.

Again it depends on whether we sign a heavyweight enforcer or not. Bergin would not need to fight if we sign a Sugden type player, and there are better non fighting guys out there.
Shaggy is spot on, its the correct pieces of the jigsaw, not the biggest to use another phrase! If he fills areas we need filling, Id be happy to see him back, but not just because he is one of the good guys or Corey's buddy.

He wasn't 100% fit all of last season so he may have decided to call it a day.

i'd have him back in a flash. like shaggy and rich have commented, he's not a franchise player, he's a dirty scrappy player who gets stuck in. if he is free'd up to play that sort of game and stand in front of the net, im sure he'll start picking up the dirty and scrappy tap in's like he was getting the season before last.
both him and richardson seemed overshadowed by talent this season, but i'd have them both back i reckon. im in two minds about richardson, but i'd definitely have bergy back.
more importantly if he goes, will the berginator still be called the berginator?

more importantly if he goes, will the berginator still be called the berginator? They could always call it heaven/heart attack in material form. As for Bergin 2 reasons for signing him back on, his tic-tac-toe goal he scored with JoMo & having the balls to give McMorrow his token fights.
