Just been speaking to a friend who tells me that the playoffs are being held Easter Weekend. That is around 6th April 2007. Here comes the rub(if it's true)....... They want our cash inDecember. Am I,or is it this league going mad? 5 whole months before the weekend they want our cash. In the words of a songwriter - Dont they know its Christmas, first. I have not even heard the date and price confirmed or the venue, has anyone else?

The Venue was confirmed about 3 or 4 weeks ago as being here in nottingham and the date set and the prices. Maybe take a chill pill thunder and get it on your calender

Not so much taking a chill pill, but do they really think we can keep paying so far up front for these games. We are on a limited income and still have all the winter bills to look forward to. I suppose there are other people out there in the same position, but I still think 5 months is a long time to have our cash when we have no idea if our team is going to be involved.

If they are going to be selling already and demanding us to pay up front it's a joke. The organisation of British hockey need to stop thinking the fans are here for their benefit rather than the other way around. Why in the world should fans be expected to pay up front for an event more than FIVE MONTHS in the future?

I think the announcement was made around the time of the continental cup, so you may have missed it, having other things on your plate at the time. But yes, it is at our place, easter weekend, and the prices are the same as last year.......extortionate!!
And like last year we will probably be there, even if the team aren't.

I've just paid for Faithless tickets in March.
If you want to guarantee the tickets you want, you pay for them when they first come out.
It's unfortunate for you if you can't, but don't try to make out that this is just the EIHL taking the mickey, 'cos it's not.

You have bought Faithless tickets knowing full well you will watch a Faithless gig. Anyone buying Play Off weekend tickets at this stage is being asked to buy tickets for an event that has no known content. To be expected to buy tickets this far in advance on those grounds is unjustified.

No not really. I'm buying tickets for the Play-off Finals Weekend, knowing I'm going to be watching the Play-off Finals Weekend.
Like I said, if you can't or don't want to buy them, that's unfortunate and your choice, but I'll be sat in the seat that I want, not what's left.

It's a cynical ploy to scare fans into buying tickets who would otherwise perhaps not bother, dependent on their teams league position or current form. Very expensive considering what will be on offer. Last season's playoffs were the worst I've ever attended. Can't say I'm that impressed with the "I'm alright Jack" attitude either Peacock.

I clearly said it's unfortunate if you can't afford to purchase them now.
I'm fortunate enough to be able to.
How does me being able to translate into an 'I'm alright Jack attitude'?
More to the point, how does someone who doesn't even know me have the gall to make a comment like that?
I'd like an apology, but I won't be holding my breath waiting.

Peacock made himself quite clear to me - and he's right, the world isn't a fair place unfortunately. He's stating a fact, nothing more. I sympathise with Thunder2 - December is a lousy time to be asked to shell out for Play-Off tickets if your finances are tight but I can see the EIHL's side of it as well. They are trying to run a business (I know, it's hard to believe at times), we can hardly expect them to behave like a benevolent fund. We'd all like jam today as well as jam tomorrow......

Buy a ticket when you can afford it. It's not going to sell-out. It never does.
I'm assuming the league pays the NIC a bond to ensure the date can't be moved. Imagine if Kylie decided she wanted to play here that weekend!

I always wait til the last minute to find out if we got there and then buy tickets wherever. Me and Barbara were at the top of the Coventry block for last year's play offs which made the final very interesting LOL ! The year before I ended up buying a seat for £80 up in an executive box.
I'm a fan of hockey and Panthers, but its too much money to spend if you won't even get a Panthers game out of it. I used to feel differently when it was held at the MEN and always went for semi-final day. I dunno, it just seems like more of an event when its not held on your doorstep. I miss Cathedral Arches loads though. That place was ace. All the banners tied to the spiral staircase outside. Classic ;D

When do the tickets go on sale then?
If it's semi-finals and finals, does that mean that it just involves the top 4 teams in the league? (sorry, I'm new to all this)

(sorry, I'm new to all this) Tickets go on sale in December, I don't think they've specified a date yet. I think the top 8 teams enter the play off stages, but the finals weekend will just be the semis & final.
