...for those (including myself and the better half) who decided to take in the Peterborough vs Slough game tonight. The first game we've been able this weekend (quite thankfully seeing as Sheffield caused us yet more embarassment and hurt) ended before it'd even begun, with the referee (Paul Staniforth) deciding that a large patch of thinning ice just outside one of the goal creases was sufficiently bad enough to abandon the game just prior to face-off.
Apparently though, the game tonight was re-scheduled from a previously abandoned fixture earlier this season against none other than...... yep, you guessed it, Slough. The locals, and the not-so-locals (Slough fans) were more than restless, they were livid!
Those poor Jets fans, I wonder it will be third time lucky for them?

I guess he/she meant 'signed', and the answer is no. Could the Jets afford him, i'm thinking not.

I guess he/she meant 'signed', and the answer is no. Could the Jets afford him, i'm thinking not. I'm not so certain.... Slough Jets appear to have had a bit of an injection of cash for this season, and there is actually no wage cap in the EPIHL. Plus Slough will have freed up some cash recently by ditching Shane Johnson. Add to that - if Curtis (or his British wife) wants to stay in this country, he isn't going to have all that many options at this point in time. Stranger things have happened....

I went to Cov v Manchester tonight....
Not a whole lot to report. Cov didn't have much trouble beating Wolf though.
Nasty check from behind, full steam into the boards by Blazes Simons I think... on Molin (I think) really kicked off. Gomez came steaming in and gave some retribution. Gomez and Simons got games.
Blaze fans thought Simons was a hero for what he did and cheered him off while booing Molin as he was helped off the ice. Class act. Well done Blaze fans.... and they wonder why people complain about them. More trouble from them in Block 13. Didn't see who it was... but one of the Phoenix players was having a go, think he wanted the fans to come down and say it to his face.
Neither sets of fans did themselves any favours by sticking fingers up and other gesticulations though. Dosn't matter who started it.
Campbell went out early in the first. On a break down the right and his knee or ankle just gave. Really looked in pain. He didn't ice again.
5-2 blaze.... they are catching us up. (ok have over taken us!)

Eurohockey has him down as signed but it's still unknown, although the guy that comfirmed it is an affiliate of Dundee Stars I think.

when you look at it really it should be a really good rink, Look at coventry "Skydome" its still a Planet Ice arena as is peterborough yet could you see peterborough holding EIHL games seriously lol, it was closed over summer to "Re-furb" and by the looks of it they painted it and thats about it, the ice already has Massive scorch marks where they have had to redo sections, the glass just fogs up, between periods goes a little fella with a bucket and sponge hehe.
