I was appalled at how poor Neilson was last night, he appears to be a big lazy D man picking up his last easy pay check. Pre season i was excited by his signing and looking at his stats he 'should' be a top guy, Jan makes him look amateur.
I watched the warm up where he never joined in at all, just stretched out on his own. And last week i beleive it was him who when the players had a huddle he just stood away on his own ?
Neilson, please prove me and other panthers fans wrong!

You may as well just be playing with Krajcek on your D. Thought he had a superb game last night and was worthy of your MOM...was Rod Stevens even on the ice?!

I bet hes one of our top earners too, At the minute Lindsay is not far behind him! He looks very ropey!
Anyone else think the atmosphere was awful last night? Very litte Shuffield noise and less said about the announcer there the better!!

It was very flat last night, didn't seem like a Steelers - Panthers game. I didn't get the usual knot in my stomach.
I think we were treated to such a spectacle last week, this week just didn't cut the mustard.
The quality may not have been there last week but it sure was one of the most exciting games I have ever watched, it had the lot.
I reckon the crowd was a good 1000 down on what it could have been had Mr Clouthier been in attendance.

well that doesn't matter so much, as they are just repeating what has already been said.
but corey has gone down hill, plus i think ellis tactics of having him bring the puck out from behind the net arestupid with him not making 1 tape to tape pass in ages. get JAN to bring it out, there very few times he doesn't gain there zone and set us up. plus hes a much better passer.
also don't put jan and Corey together and also don't put Moran and Meyers together we have enough D'men, REES and Nielson, Jan and Meyers.
Maybe move Moran to a forward a bench Ferrer (sp?) who barely touches the puck and is absolutely terrible. play James neil instead he won't do any worse. and has a cooler head to make the right plays.

On the corey playing bad, yes he has made afew gaffs, but please dont jump on him too hard just yet, the whole teams moral is rock bottom after these defeats and maybe he's finding it hard to get the motivation needed to bring out the best in him.
We could try getting behind him and cheering him on rather than boo's and jeers that cant help his puck control as he's scared into making gaffs to appease those that make comments like above. Thats alot of pressure these guys not just corey have maybe even rod stevens to get that illusive goal....they are trying and need our support to help them out this slump.
On the D men side, Jan and rees and corey with meyers is a great combo as thats a stay at home d covering the explosive offensive d on each line. Ellis does need to see that lol.

Last week when I saw the Loser Cruiser outside the NIC it had Corey's name on the back. He was also the first recipient when it was launched, wasn't he? Too many weeks in the Loser Cruiser and maybe it gets beyond a joke

I think hes very frustrated with his performances hence silly mistakes, I don;t think booing him will help the situation at all. He's certainly not alone in performing badly however bad you think hes playing. I've heard personal remarks shouted to him from the front rows which I think are a tad unecessary. He was oozing confidence at the start and no one complained then about his ability, so what changed? His ability is still there but he's struggling to find it at the moment, but and its a BIG BUT he's not alone!

The looser cruiser has been parked outside of his house for the last 3 weeks now. It has PAUL MORAN's name on the back tonight! Which is about right when you think about it...he was in the Penalty Box when the Steelers scored their last goal.!

So far he has 4 goals, all PP, all from the point. He has 10 assists all tipped in from shots from the blueline.14 points from 15 games in the EIHL. FINE!!! But when he is at the other end of the ice he appears clumsy,he regularly does not connect his stick to the puck, his pass accuracy is poor,he turns the puck over far too often and gets caught out in the neutral zone with little hope of recovery. That has been all season, not just the last few games, if the league stats gave us +/- you may well see that he has cost us more than his 14 points. If we wait around until he "finds" whatever is missing we could end up at the other end of the table.

leave the bloke alone for god sakes, yeah hes not in the greatest form but he'll get out of it, he didnt stand out as a particularily bad player, he made some mistakes but no more than the forewards at the other end.
noone seems to say anything about Emersics massive two point haul in 14 games, its not a one player problem its a team problem.

But we cant wait till all the team are over THEIR ills. We need a team who devote all, which includes mental attitude.

Neilson is the poorest of a down hearted lot at the mo. He skates like he's in treacle with his ankles chained together, isn't physical for a big man, and his decision making is poor. He's been disapppointing all season. As have Petricko, Stevens and Emersic, to be frank. These 3 guys should have a lot more than 6 goals between them in 15 games. The rest have just been disappointing for 3 weeks, which happens.
The biggest issue we have is that the "second line" imports just aren't producing, and the D looks imbalanced IMHO. What you do about it, if anything is the coach's call. FWIW I think Lindsay isn't the issue. He's doing OK. Not stellar, but OK.

One intresting point, hes not a patch on Krajicek at the moment, thats comparing him to an extremely good D man tho and definatly one of those who people will talk about in years to come as being class, whilst never really getting the praise whilst hes here, ala Stancok!(JK that is, not Neilson lol)
Corey needs to get more up for the game and make basic plays instead of trying to set the league alight all the time!

Neilson has been driving me mad for weeks ! He coughs up the puck in dangerous areas, gets caught in the wrong place on defence and then isn't fast enough to rectify his error, not very physical for a big guy. I've seen enough frankly. D-men doing the offensive stuff is fine, but you've got to be able to take care of business at the back first !
