At times like this you put your sporting rivalries to one side - best of wishes go to the Matsos family. Thoughts are with them and prayers for a happy ending.

My thoughts are with Dave and his family. My little girl recently had a serious illness similar to this and she came through it ok. So while it's a terribly worrying time, take some reassurance that he'll be getting the best treatment and they're tough little souls so stay positive and here's hoping for a full recovery.

Things like this really do put hockey rivalries into context - they matter not one iota!
Best wishes to Dave and his family at this most difficult time.

At last - some good news, as reported in the Sheffield Star today:
The news Sheffield Steelers fans want more than anything ice is good.
Little George Matsos, the coach's toddler son who has been in intensive care for a week with pneumonia is showing significant signs of improvement.
A simple peanut may have been the cause of little George's problem.
It is now thought that the 22-month-old swallowed the nut "down the wrong hole" - and it became stuck in his windpipe. That may have been responsible for an infection which led to chronic breathing problems and a suspected collapsed lung.
But, sources say, the food remains have now been removed and the youngster is showing signs of improvement - and today further advancements in his recovery process are hoped for.
That is fantastic news for the Matsos family and the club![/i]
Brilliant! Sincerely hope George is back to full health soon!

I believe Dave Matsos has been been reading and printing off many of the goodwill messages posted on the internet in the past few days and reading them out to his boy. I don't think the actual sincerity of the post would matter one iota to him. As a parent myself it wouldn't to me. Can we keep this thread to its actual purpose?
