I have been watching Panthers for about 5 years but didn't go to the majority of games, just handpicked the few i fancied. This season I decided to bite the bullet and get a season ticket and was just wondering if anyone else out there was wishing they had'nt. I decided to get one mainly for the entertainment factor as being a long suffering Notts County fan i needed cheering up! However my brother decided to get me a Notts season ticket to follow the revolution at Meadow lane and have to say I have found it far more exciting this season and have come to regret spending £300 on the panthers. Just wondering if others are feeling the same or have in the past decided not to renew for this reason!

I'm starting to regret not getting a season ticket.
My wife, daughter and I haven't missed a home game yet and I can see us getting season tickets next year to save money.

Equal top on points, and already jumping off the parapet.

Equal top on points, and already jumping off the parapet. I don't think the OP is regretting getting a season ticket because of poor performance, just because they aren't going to the games.

This season is much more entertaining that the one about 3 or 4 years ago, IMHO.
If you are expecting Panthers to win every home game, then that is unlikely to happen. At least Panthers are entertaining these days. Unlike the Steelers who last year won the double, yet bored their fans to death ;D

I accept peoples right to express their views - and in many cases I agree with their sentiments - but just one question - we have played 22 out of 56 games, there is still 68 points to play for, why do we have to dismiss the team this early in the season? - even when we are winning someone will complain about something or someone - look in the Oxford dictionary for the definition of A SUPPORTER

I agree about Steel Bleat, but maybe they have installed the new interface to Heaven. Especially as many think it is their sole right to win something every season, they must be being looked after by someone

or maybe some people just expect more from their team than 9 losses already.

Possibly because the OP states that he is a 'long suffering' NCFC fan who needed cheering up, but following the 'revolution' at Meadow Lane things have improved. The language he uses seems to me (and my ever-so-humble opinion Mr Buster) to suggest soccer is his first love and hockey fills a gap when required. I could be wrong though, hell we all get things wrong occassionally, even forum demi-Gods, and if that is so the OP will no doubt clarify their commrnts.

We've won 8 out of 10 games at home so not too bad at the moment. Its just away we are letting ourselves down. The reason i don't have a season ticket is because of the 4pm face offs

Both of you are right Buster and Al, Buster nailed it in what he said, i'm not excited at the thought of going to panthers. The results concern me but they are not the reason for my regret, it's the whole entertainment package I think. I remember watching craighead et al and coming away from games thinking yea we lost but i bloody enjoyed the night! I don't get that buzz anymore. Al is right in that Notts are my first love however over recent years my love has swayed more to the panthers. After watching dire football at Notts for years things are changing and i feel more entertained at the pies now. I suppose that could be the fact that Notts have improved but i was just trying to get peoples opinions on whether they felt that the whole entertainment package is lacking? I bought my wife a couple of weeks ago and she said exactly the same, she didn't come away with a buzz like she used to. As i said, results aren't everything to me but entertainment, passion and commitment are what makes it a night for me. Hard to please! Not so sure!

My sister has also both ST to these teams mentioned. Not wanting to waste the ticket she gave me the option to use it and go and see County play. For what I saw with all the hype I doubt with another draw showing that Notts will get promotion. It was a dull affair so I can say the same about my visit to the lane. Looking forward to Sundays game for sure.

Not sure but except for Belfast the entertainment has been pretty good this season, and even that was good if you like pantomime characters. However if you are talking about the whole package off ice I would agree with you, but on the ice we are not doing to badly at home!

Overall, no I don't regret it. Like Al said earlier, I've had seasons where I've paid box office price for every home game, no matter how bad it got, so I'm saving money at least.
There have been some games where my mind has been well and truly numbed though, during those games I've wished I wasn't tied to it. The presentation probably plays the biggest role there, but we've all been around that block way too many times, nothing ever changes.

No.
Even though I have missed a couple of games so far and I know I will miss a few more (this Sunday for example), so I certainly don't benefit financially from having a season ticket, what I do like is having my own "home" in the arena when I go to watch my team.
I think the games have been pretty good on the whole (I missed Edinburgh and Newcastle games that many people said were poor), until last Saturday obviously.

We've not had a season ticket since we left the old arena (where you really needed one to get to all the games). Now our numbers vary week to week, and as we would like to sit together we buy on a game by game basis. Except for Sunday games at 4.00 which we dont bother with as its a ridiculous time.

No, apart from the fact that tickets around where we sit have been allocated for freebies to sponsers to give out to who they please, and the last couple of games the kids have been a pain in the a$$. They also seem to be allowed to bring in numerous bags full of food and drink of their own that they constantly have to rummage in, dont know how they manage to get it in. One rule for one, one rule for another!

One rule for one, one rule for another! With regard to season tickets,. Absoloutley no regrets. Obviously not happy if we lose a game,. But I would hate to miss a game. Its too important to me not to. With regard to the final part of Ellyjays post,.and slightly OT,. We have not had one single bag search this year,. And we use different exits and entrances regularly. There have been issues with some fans,. All be it casuals bringing in bottles of spirits near to us,. One week two guys were so drunk that they were ejected after causing a scene regarding sitting forward in their seats with ST holders and were ejected. I also regularly now see empty spirit bottle in the loo's. Have bag searches been stopped ?
